David Gates says Rome to attack America, and SDA Church to persecute members starting in Spring 2019! (“Even at the Door” Error!

David Gates recently recorded a sermon titled “Even at the Door”. While he preaches many good things about the need to get ready for the end-times, and to get closer to God, his comments about Rome that “By Spring of 2019, it will begin its final assault on God’s law and people”, that the Judgment of the Living for the leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church began on September 23, 2015, and that basically the Holy Spirit has already been withdrawn from SDA leaders because they are persecuting members they don’t like — are all egregious errors that I am pointing out publicly, and calling on Br. Gates to repent of.

I admit that Br. Gates does much good, and preaches the straight truth most of the time, and has helped a lot in waking up sleepy Laodicean Adventists to seek a closer walk with Jesus. I even volunteered at his headquarters in Tennessee for 3 months in 2010, until kicked out for pointing out some errors in his teaching.

In 2008, he was preaching about the 7 years of plenty and famine in Joseph’s time, applying it to 2001-2015. Well, shortly after I left, something happened, and he quit talking publicly about these time-setting things that he’d previously taught with vigor. Of course nothing happened, so time itself proved him wrong. And yes, just as the Holy Spirit has told us thru Ellen White, when every time-setting date passes, it leaves God’s people in a lower condition that before.

I praised God that Br. Gates seemed to have repented of his time-setting ways, and his sermons from 2011-2018 that I saw anyway, were more Christ-centered than before. Of course, they weren’t “exciting” so didn’t stir up the donors much either I guess.

But then on October 17, 2018, he uploaded this new sermon, doubling down on his time-setting, conspiracy theory ways. Again, while there are many good things in it, I will be focusing only on the errors, to warn others of the dangers involved in his straying from the holy, inspired words of God.

First, let’s hear what God has told us regarding preaching time after 1844:
“There were many proclaiming a new time after this (1844), but I was shown that we should not have another definite time to proclaim to the people. …

I have been shown that our disappointment in 1844 was not because of failure in the reckoning of prophetic periods, but in the events to take place. The earth was believed to be the sanctuary. But the sanctuary which was to be cleansed at the end of the prophetic periods was the heavenly sanctuary and not the earth as we all supposed. The Saviour did enter the most holy place in 1844 to cleanse the sanctuary, and the investigative judgment had commenced for the dead.

I have been repeatedly urged to accept the different periods of time proclaimed for the Lord to come, [but] I have ever had one testimony to bear: the Lord will not come at that period, and you are weakening the faith even of Adventists, and fastening the world in their unbelief.
….
But their oft-repeated message of definite time was exactly what the enemy wanted, and it served his purpose well to unsettle the faith in the first proclamation of time, that was of heavenly origin.

The world placed all time proclamation on the same level and called it a delusion, fanaticism, and heresy. Ever since 1844 I have borne my testimony that we were now in a period of time in which we are to take heed to ourselves lest our hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon us unawares. Our position has been one of waiting and watching, with no time proclamation to intervene between the close of the prophetic periods in 1844 and the time of the Lord’s coming. We do not know the day nor the hour, or when the definite time is, and yet the prophetic reckoning shows us that Christ is at the door.
Manuscript Releases p 178-180

Let’s keep the above in mind as we go thru the video.

17:58 “Many many shipments of guillotines have been shipped into this country and other countries.”
Well that’s pure conspiracy theory stuff.

20:28 “Rome and the United States…. they’ve already joined.”
No they haven’t.

31:09 “They (Catholics) have been controlling the economy (of America) already for a long time.”
This is just blatantly false.

33:36 “The Spirit of Prophecy…. is not considered inspired anymore….as far as the official church position.”
I’ve checked the 1872 Statement of Beliefs, the 1931 Statement, and 1980 Fundamentals. None of them say anything about the Spirit of Prophecy (Ellen White) being inspired. I believe she was, but our official “Fundamentals” have never said anything about that.

Prohibition was one of the best things America ever did

Many people like to say that Prohibition in America (banning alcohol sales) was a failure, and not good to start with. However, it actually saved many lives, and still lingers on helping to save lives today by restricting alcohol sales at certain times and days.

New research by the World Health Organization, says “Alcohol a factor in one in 20 deaths worldwide”. Just think of all the pain and suffering and death that could be avoided if alcohol were banned all over the world!

David Read of Fulcrum7 doesn’t believe in words of God

Recently, there was an article on Fulcrum7 by Eugene Prewitt where he quoted Deuteronomy 6:6 that says “these words” in referring to what is in the Bible, and he also wrote: “They should be hearing and thinking of God’s words continuously.” Since this is exactly what I believe, and that he has said before that he doesn’t believe, I asked him if he does believe this now that the words in the Bible are from God. He gave a very strange reply:

“The Ten Commandments are referred to in Scripture as Ten Words. And as they were written with the finger of God I most certainly believe that these Ten Words are, in fact, God’s “words” even in the modern sense of words. But in the Biblical sense, a “word” is often an idea (like in the phrase, “May I have a word with you?” And so I do believe that the whole Bible is the words of God though the vocabulary reflects the language skill and habits of the various prophets who were God’s penmen, albeit not his pen. But I have a hard time imagining that you ask in good faith since we have discussed this to ad nasium in the past. I risk my life on the reliability and authority of Scripture. There is not an idea in Scripture to which I do not bow.”

So he believes that the whole Bible “is the words of God”, but, …… he bows to only ideas in Scripture??? That’s just WEIRD.

I told him that he was welcome to believe whatever he wanted, but when writing that he believes the “words of God”, when he does NOT believe the words are from God, is being self-contradictory.

At this point, David Read jumped into to the discussion to show his double-speaking on the issue as well. “Single issue posters are tiresome, and in your case wrong. If you keep agitating verbal inspiration, your posts will be deleted.”

I have never advocated verbal inspiration.
I believe the words in the Bible are God’s words.
The author of this article quotes “God’s words” as if he believes in them too, yet says in later posts that he only believes the ideas in the Bible.

Stephen Bohr says Adam didn’t keep first Sabbath!

Pastor Stephen Bohr (Secrets Unsealed) is usually firm for the truth, altho I have never cared for his long-winded style and for refusing to condemn sins such as abortion in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. So it is with great surprise that I read today where he says:

Now we are ready to answer fully
the question of why God did not
command Adam and Eve to cease
on the seventh day of creation week:
First, as previously indicated,
Adam and Eve could not
cease from work on the seventh day
because they had not worked the first
six. How could they cease from work
if they had not worked?

I blinked, not believing my eyes. Surely he was leading up to an important point that Adam really did keep the first Sabbath, but then he doubled down by saying:

Third, Jesus could not have told
Adam and Eve to keep
the Sabbath of creation week holy
because He did not make it holy
until He had finished resting the
entire seventh day.

Huh?

Then:

Adam and Eve could not
follow God’s example of
Sabbath observance until He had
first given the example. In other
words, Jesus did not merely tell
Adam and Eve to keep it holy but
rather showed them how to keep it!

This is preposterous. Saying that Adam and Eve “Could not follow God’s example of of Sabbath observance” is tantamount to saying that Adam and Eve broke the very first Sabbath. Like what were they doing, Pr. Bohr? Were they wandering around all over the place doing their own pleasure while Jesus was resting?

Pr. Bohr came out with this article Reflections on a Sabbath debate in which he tries to refute the points made by Steve Gregg in his debate about the Sabbath with Doug Batchelor. But by saying that Adam did not keep the first Sabbath, he has basically shot down his position that the Sabbath is for all humans everywhere from the beginning to the end of this earth’s history.

Stephen Bohr, please don’t barge into debates where your input causes more harm to God’s cause than help.

kale and other greens help prevent colon cancer

This should be quite obvious, but some researchers found out that eating things like kale, cabbage, and broccoli helped prevent colon cancer in mice.
greens against cancer!

What the article didn’t state, is whether it is to be eaten fresh or cooked. Personally, I’m convinced the best benefits are from the raw plant, as the enzymes are not killed off in the cooking process.

That reminds me that two evenings ago in Yonago, I was at the “dine-in” section of a supermarket. I had bought some kale, and in between eating my rice balls, potato rings, and tomatoes, I would take up a leaf and munch on it. The mother of the family of 4 sitting just inches away told her family that it was odd to eat it that way, but that different people have different likes and dislikes. I didn’t let them catch on that I could understand them, as they would’ve been embarrassed, but I thot it was noteworthy that they considered it “unusual”.

Let’s all eat our greens with pride, and gross out all those dead animal eaters – ha!

530 million people watch one online show!

I’m still trying to wrap my head around that number. That represents 40% of everyone alive in China, and about 1 in 15 humans living on the planet now. All to watch some fiction show about ancient concubines in the Chinese court try to out trick each other:

Now if we could just get them to watch some Three Angels’ Truth from Amazing Facts or somebody….

Patterns of Evidence video shows amazing evidence for Joseph in Egypt

Yesterday I watched videos Part 1 and 2 of “Patterns of Evidence” where David Rohl explains how current Egyptology is off by several hundred years, which makes many theological schools teach that Joseph and Moses and the Exodus is just fiction. In these videos he shows remarkable evidence that fits very closely to the time line of the Bible.

One thing that amazed me, is that there is a “Bahr Yussef” in Egypt that is a canal system to not only control the floods (which he claims is the reason there were 7 years of famine), but also to turn much of Egypt into an agricultural paradise. Amazing stuff!

Avaris was the name of an Egyptian town, where he claims the Hebrews lived, and he has lots of archaeological evidence to back up his claim.

David Rohl is not a believer in any religion it seems, but just sees the Bible as a generally reliable historical book. His blog is here: David Rohl’s blog about ancient Egypt and Israel

The first video is quite dry, but gets the foundation laid for his version of the ancient time line, and the second video has lots of interesting artifacts and reconstructions to show things that would be interesting to anyone who believes in the Bible. One thing that interested me, is the probable tomb of Joseph, and a statue of what he believes in Joseph that was twice the size of people today – hmmmmm.

Video laying groundwork for why he believes the current Egyptian chronology is wrong

Video giving archaeological evidence for his premise of changing the Egyptian chronology time line

While we know that the Bible is true, it is very nice to see the historical evidence that matches the holy words of God, and helps strengthen our faith (while at the same time, making us disgusted with the false narrative we’ve all been taught in school!)

Ted Wilson is not my Brother in Christ

It’s been on my mind for some time now – how am I to relate to the Seventh-day Adventist Church, seeing as how it openly supports killing baby Jesus in the womb.

1987 years ago, the human leader of God’s “church” supported the death of Jesus. Now, in 2018, the human leader of God’s church supports the death of Jesus.

Many people say I overstate the facts of the case, but this can be verified by reading our “Official Guidelines on Abortion”, adopted in 1992:
Adventist’s Official Guidelines on Abortion

Recently, a self-professed “missionary” doing volunteer translation work etc. in some S.E. Asian country told me how he really supported the church’s stance on abortion. I told him that I cannot consider him my Brother in Christ, if he openly supports killing Christ! That seems pretty straight-forward – that anyone who supports killing Jesus, is definitely not following Jesus.

However, telling him that reminded me of my dilemma in how to deal with Ted Wilson, who is the President of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church. I’ve sent him 2 letters, asking him to repent for supporting this heinous sin, and both times was referred to the above-mentioned guidelines, which say that it is the woman’s choice. Here is a video where I show how our SDA church is involved in abortion, and give the details about my correspondence with Ted Wilson:
my video on the Adventist church and abortion

So I’ve come to the point where, to be honest with myself and God, I must declare that Ted Wilson is no longer my Brother in Christ. Just as I don’t believe Caiaphas was a “Brother in Christ” to Jesus himself, I don’t recognize Mr. Wilson, or anyone who supports killing Jesus, as my Brother in Christ either.

While I’m still a Seventh-day Adventist, and still believe this is the only church loved of God, I also recognize it is in a terrible Laodicean state, and WILL be spued out if we do not repent.

I call on all those who love Jesus and are SDAs, to consider what their position should be, and to sigh and cry for all the abominations done in Jerusalem. They are the ONLY ones who will ever get the seal of the living God in the forehead.

Evolutionists show DNA supports recent start to living things

A recent review paper proposed a controversial claim—that the vast majority of animal species arose contemporary with modern humans. Not surprisingly, this claim was met with backlash from the evolutionary community…. The main focus of Stoeckle and Thaler’s paper is genetics. Specifically, they focus on a subset of DNA in human and animal cells, termed mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). Their analysis of mtDNA is clear, straightforward, and carefully justified

Recent mitochondrial DNA barcoding results bode well for the recent origin of species

The above article is a scientist’s explanation of what this new evidence for a recent origin of living things means.

For a layman’s explanation: New DNA Findings Raise More Questions About Theory of Evolution

Here’s how Phys.org explained it:

It is textbook biology, for example, that species with large, far-flung populations — think ants, rats, humans — will become more genetically diverse over time.

But is that true?

“The answer is no,” said Stoeckle, lead author of the study …

For the planet’s 7.6 billion people, 500 million house sparrows, or 100,000 sandpipers, genetic diversity “is about the same,” he told AFP.

“This conclusion is very surprising, and I fought against it as hard as I could,” Thaler also told AFP (Agence France-Presse), the international news agency headquartered in Paris.

Interesting that DNA does NOT support “millions of years” that the god of Evolution requires in order to do his magic. Maybe that god is not real after all?

Americans don’t care much about morality

The article: “Urban-Rural Divide Isn’t What It Seems” in Real-Clear Policy shows, from the results of many years of polling Americans, that when asked the question: “What do you think is the most important problem facing the country today?” very few mentioned “morality”.

The number one thing was “economic concerns” followed by “government leadership”, “cultural questions” such as immigration, poverty, gun control, and race relations all came in front of “morality”. “Morality” scored 7% in rural areas, and 4% in the cities. So yes, as expected, the cities are less interested in God, but the rural areas aren’t much interested either.

To think that only around 5% of all fellow Americans view “morality” as the number one problem facing America, gives one pause….

Desire of Ages doesn’t do away with the Passover

Today, someone quoted Desire of Ages, by Ellen White, to try and show that the Passover is forever abolished, and we must not keep the Feasts of the Lord anymore. That is a serious charge, and contrary to not only Jesus’ example of keeping the Passover himself, but also against the Apostles, who kept the feasts, and the early Christian church, who also kept the feasts, and even contrary to many other places in Ellen White’s writings where she says we will be judged by the Statutes etc. This is my rebuttal:

The national festival of the Jews was to pass away forever. The service which Christ established was to be observed by His followers in all lands and through all ages. DA652

We have to remember that the Passover has NOT passed away forever, per:

―And He said unto them, “with desire I have desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; for I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” (Luke 22:15, 16)

That is irrefutable evidence that we will observe Passover in heaven!

At Philippi Paul tarried to keep the Passover. Only Luke remained with him, the other members of the company passing on to Troas to await him there. The Philippians were the most loving and truehearted of the apostle’s converts, and during the eight days of the feast he enjoyed peaceful and happy communion with them.AA 390, 391

Paul was faithful to keep the feasts.

Acts 20:6 ― And we sailed away from Philippi after the Days of Unleavened Bread, and came unto Troas in five days; where we abode seven days

“Obviously, according to the Scriptures and Ellen White, the last thing the Philippians enjoyed with Paul was the honor of keeping the feast with him. What is even more interesting is the statement he made in his letter addressed back to them after he left.”

Philippians 4:9 ―Those things, which we have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you

“What they saw him do they were to keep doing, and the last thing they saw him do was to keep the feasts. So how can we justify Ellen White in her Desire of Ages statement? We must understand that the rituals and ordinances of the Passover sacrifice were often referred to as ―the Passover.”

So after examining the evidence, we find that Desire of Ages does not contradict Christ, Paul, nor herself, as is often implied, and instead, is telling us that Christ – our Passover Lamb, had been slain, so the national festival of the Jews where they were to slay the Passover Lamb was forever abolished.

Open Source Software Disqus: “What is Seventh Day Adventism?”

This Disqus forum site published the above article. You can find it here: What is Seventh Day Adventism?

I’ve had some interaction with that site’s owner on the Disqus site “Grace and Truth”, and knew that he/she was against SDAs, but seemed to be more honest and searching than some others.

So I read the article carefully, and made the following observations:

—————-
Thank you for starting a discussion about God’s remnant church!
.
The 7th day Sabbath is one of the 10 Commandments that God wrote with his own finger in stone.
Jesus Christ kept the commandments, and said that if we love him, we are to “keep my commandments”.
He prophesied that we need to pray in the last days that our flight into the hills from tribulation should not take place on the Sabbath day.
.
Daniel 8:14 was fulfilled exactly on the Day of Atonement – 2300 years later – on October 22, 1844. That is the day Jesus Christ entered the Most Holy Place in heaven, to begin the final atonement for sins.
The Sanctuary figures prominently in SDA teaching, as God used it as a type, to teach us important truths. One of those is that the scapegoat (Azazel) represents Satan. This is what the Jews believed, and most all Christians until just around 150 years ago when “higher criticism” came into the various churches.
.
Ellen White is a true messenger of the Lord Jesus Christ. No one has ever produced even one false vision from her. But you do not have believe her writings to be saved, as she wrote herself that everyone will be judged by the great statute book – the Holy Bible.
.
I agree that the Clear Word Bible is an abomination. It is not an official SDA Bible, but was penned by a teacher of theology at a SDA University. There are many tares in God’s remnant church, sadly, but that doesn’t mean that the wheat is bad.
.
God has told us thru Ellen White that the SDA church is “Laodicea”. That is a terrible position. But, as you can read for yourself, that church is still loved by God. All other churches showed that they didn’t love Jesus, as they didn’t even wish to see him return in 1844. So God’s plan was carried out then, to test hearts, to see who is really desirous of following the Lamb wherever he leads.
.
I pray you also will want to follow the Lamb wherever he leads – to the New Jerusalem, and eternal life. 🙂
———————

That post not only got removed, it got me banned from the site! I had posted on the site before, so was quite amazed to see this.

So site owner “ExtremeRC”, why did you put up an article asking a question about SDAs, and then remove relevant answers? It just makes it look like you are not interested in what the title of your own article is about, and just want to bash SDAs. Was that your intention?

May we all remember to give glory to our lovely Saviour – Jesus Christ, in all our interactions today.

Adventist Review attacks Trump, but quietly changes article

The following was my comment to an Adventist Review article titled:
The Moral Challenge of Forcing Apart Migrant Families
Adventist Review The Moral Challenge of Forcing Apart Migrant Families

Quoting the article:
“you already know about the Trump administration policy of separating children from apprehended migrant families.”

I commented:

“One problem with that statement – It started under President Obama!!!

It is sad to see our church following Progressive politics more and more.”

The above comment got removed.

But AR DID change their article to:
“ you already know about the U.S. administration policy of separating children from apprehended migrant families. ”

Hypocrites!

It’s really sad to see the flagship paper for God’s remnant church go down the dark road of social justice religious oppression.

review of spy kitten’s video dissing sdas by saying they influenced charles taze russell of the jehovah’s witnesses

A review of a video by Spy Kitten TV, titled:
“A False Religion The Jehovah’s Witness Cult”. I’m not JW, but am Seventh-day Adventist, and as this video spends the first 7 minutes trying to tie in the false doctrines of the JWs with the true doctrines of the SDAs, this review is to show where the presenter made errors. Unfortunately, the video is so over-the-top, that it will not only work to establish JWs’ belief in their unbiblical doctrines, it also serves to make the non-religious look at all Christians as goof-balls (and I’m not saying JWs are Christians).

The following is where errors were found regarding Adventists:
1:05 The origins of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, along with the Seventh-day Adventists and both of their founders – Charles Taze Russell and Ellen G. White all go back to something called “the Millerite Movement”.
Actually, Russell was not born until 1852, so he could not “go back to” something that had finished 8 years before he was born! Fortunately, the video corrects this error at the 6:23 mark.

1:25 and that shortly after, Armegeddon would begin.
Actually, William Miller did not predict that Armegeddon would begin after Jesus came back in 1843 or 1844. He didn’t predict anything about Armageddon. This is just made up.

1:36 the date was further recalculated to March of 1844.
Actually, William Miller said from the first that the date was Jewish year 1843 – extending to March 21, 1844, based on the 2300 days of Daniel 8:14. He did not recalculate anything. An Advent believer, Samuel Snow, rightly calculated the Day of Atonement for October 22, 1844 as the correct day, since neither Miller, nor his detractors, thought to add one year for the zero year from BC to AD. That date correctly identified the end of the 2300 days in Daniel 8:14, but what was cleansed was the sanctuary in heaven, not this earth by fire.

3:07 her family (Ellen White’s) became involved in the Millerite Movement, the same as Russell would later.
Actually, Russel never, ever became “involved in” the Millerite movement. That movement finished long before he was born. Advent Christians and Seventh-day Adventists came out of the Millerite movement.

8 reasons why SDAs should not believe in the doctrine of “unconditional love”

The following is something I wrote to a fellow Seventh-day Adventist believer, who believes in the unscriptural doctrine of “Unconditional Love”. Since there are many fellow SDAs who believe in this doctrine, I wrote this kind of as a challenge to bring forth your inspired evidence for why you believe as you do.
———–
Here are some reasons I don’t believe in the doctrine of “Unconditional Love”. If I am wrong in any of these, please let me know. If you can show that I’m wrong in all of these, I will naturally repent and believe in “Unconditional Love”. If most of these stay true, then you will need to repent, and quit believing in “Unconditional Love”.
1. UL teaches that the Father loves Satan exactly the same as he loves his only begotten Son.
2. UL teaches that when inspired words say God “hates” some people, it doesn’t mean “hates”.
3. UL teaches that when inspired words say God doesn’t love some some people, it means something else.
4. UL teaches that when inspired words say some human went beyond the bounds of God’s love, it doesn’t mean that they went beyond the bounds of God’s love.
5. UL teaches that large parts of the Bible have really no understandable meaning in the places where it says Jesus “loved” somebody, because he loves everybody exactly the same.
6. UL teaches that we need to love Satan exactly like we love Jesus.
7. UL teaches that ultimately, everyone will go to heaven.
8. UL teaches that God doesn’t have understandable attributes, and eventually, leads to the idea that God is not a person at all – but just some kind of “cosmic consciousness”.
———–
May the Holy Spirit guide you in your studies of God’s holy words.
