seventh-day adventists and conspiracy theories video

Today i uploaded a new video on YouTube asking my fellow Seventh-day Adventists who are into conspiracy theories to stop, repent, and get out of that business altogether.
http://youtu.be/IdPzLgPyqW8

This is the script for the video:
Seventh-day Adventists and conspiracy theories

On the day the President of the United States takes the oath of office facing the pagan phallic symbol in Washington, “they” will start spraying chemtrails from it to fluoridate the water so the black helicopters can be directed to the hidden concentration camps on the “moon” set where the black pope will appear as an alien lizard shape-shifter, declare martial law, and prepare the way for the Bilderbergers to take all our money and then manipulate HAARP to erase all these dastardly things from our collective memory. BWAHAHA! I’ve got it all figured out, and you sheeple who believe whatever the mass media tells you are doomed, doomed!!! And by the way, send me a check or credit card number so i can get this vital information out to as many of God’s remnant people as possible!

This video is to call fellow Seventh-day Adventists who believe in conspiracy theories to repent and turn back to spreading the Three Angels’ Messages.
—-
One common thread running thru all conspiracy theories is the idea that a hidden, super-powerful force that we can do nothing about is working to destroy us all. In that respect it is in accord with the SDA worldview of a Great Controversy Between Christ and His Angels and Satan and His Angels, the title of a book God had his messenger Ellen White write in 1858. Yes! there IS a big battle going on mostly unseen. This is what we Adventists should be focusing on – how to press forward the battle by spreading the truth as it is in Jesus. By focusing on these other things we are in fact helping the dark side in its battle with Christ.

evolution and creation allegory youtube debate

On YouTube there are vigorous discussions regarding Evolution and Creation. I usually point out that Origin of Species, a foundational doctrine of Evolution, has never been observed in action. Of course i know an even deeper error in the Evolutionary theology is that they have no explanation for how life appeared, but since they usually punt that question away to abiogenesis, you cannot really have a discussion about life origins. That is why i choose species origins, as they all agree that this doctrine is part of Evolution. And yes, i know the crux of the whole Evolutionary religion is that the leaders and believers of it want to find a way to forget God, as God will hold us all accountable for what we do in this life. But again, they just pooh-pooh such talk as being a “belief system”, “unobserved”, and “contrary to science”. So that is why i try to show that their “science” is really a belief system, as no one actually observed anything happening millions of years ago.

Today i wrote up a little allegory for YouTube commenters. It is exactly 500 letters long to fit the YouTube comment limit. Any advice or comments on this would be appreciated.

An owner of a field brought many parts to it, and then left on a trip after writing down what he did. Some people came along later who didn’t like the field owner, saw the parts, and said that they got there as a result of a big explosion. They made everything match their belief, not the words of the field owner, and often not even their observations. The parts observed by those who believed the field owner and those who didn’t were the same.

What should the field owner do when he comes back?

help create a special envoy for religious freedom

A bill was introduced in the House of Representatives in America in 2011 asking the President to create a special envoy for religious minorities in the Near East and South Central Asia. While the bill passed 402 to 20 in the House, by the actions of just one senator, it has been on hold in the Senate since then.

Here is a chance to write your senator to ask that a special envoy be appointed in this region of the world where many Christians especially are persecuted. If you lived in those areas, wouldn’t you want someone to treat you this way?

dark age persecution meets youtube in ukraine

A new video on YouTube taken in Ukraine shows a procession of people led by a couple of Orthodox Church priests attacking a stand of books set up by Seventh-day Adventists. This is mild compared to what we will see soon, but the ancient animosity towards the truth is still alive and well today:

1858 great controversy progress first half 2012

So what’s been going on with the spread of this book so far this year? It doesn’t seem like much, as i just go around teaching English in Japan, and keeping in touch by email with people, but fortunately some things have been going on.

English: I went to California in April to a Passover/Unleavened Bread campmeeting, and was able to have 3 studies with groups of people there. The leader of the place requested 1,000 books if possible, to which i gladly gave. He is now giving them away at www.bibleexplorations.com

Japanese: Still around 200 in stock. The church that showed so much interest in them last year has zero interest in them now.

Filipino: The man who i sponsored for 3 years to travel around spreading these books is still working overseas. He says he wants to come back to the Philippines and work on this again, so i still have hopes. Update July 8, the Filipino man contacted me after a silence of several months saying he is stuck in Sabah and needs a way to get back to the Philippines and he is sorry he didn’t restart working on spreading this book earlier. Hopefully we can get him back, and he can start again spreading God’s words soon.

Indonesia: A good friend i made there 2 years ago said in a email about 1 year ago that the translation was finished. But then he basically stopped communicating. Last month he said again that the translation was finished, but when i pressed for more info and showed interest in helping get it printed or whatever, communication stopped again.

Vietnam: The plan is to print 10,000 of this edition along with 10,000 of the 1911 edition to go with the General Conference plan to spread the book this year.

Thailand: Approximately 200 books left. I’m hoping it can be proofread and reprinted.

Myanmar: The book is slowly being distributed.

India: This is where most of the action is. In the north, my pastor friend is in the process of getting the Tibetan one proofread, and hopefully reprinted soon. We had to throw away all the copies printed around 7 years ago, so i’m really praying that this time will be successful. He is also interested in more Nepali copies. In southern India i am currently sponsoring a man with the idea to print this book along with Steps to Christ and maybe some health literature in several languages. The Kannada translation is currently in the final proofreading stage, and i have hope it will be printed this summer. The Gujarati and Marathi versions are supposedly translated, but it is hard to get a handle on exactly where they stand. Pr. Randy Skeetes is scheduled to come give meetings there in January, so we are planning to have this book in several languages for the meetings to try and introduce young, on-fire SDA members to this book so they will want to spread it in their towns. This Brother will meet a high church official this Sabbath, and plans to introduce this 1858 edition to him. May God’s will be done.

Zimbabwe: A man i’ve known thru the internet for maybe 9 years or so has kept in contact, and finally at the end of last year i offered to support the translation and printing cost for the Tonga version. He wrote back in about a week saying it was done, whcih just heightened my concerns, so i told him to be careful about it and take time and do a good job. He wrote recently that in getting help with some words translating, he is able to reach some people he would not be able to reach otherwise, and one man has already become convicted of the truth of this book.

Ghana: Some feelers were put out, but not much interest.

Armenia: Basically in the same stage it was 2 years ago – translation is finished, and awaiting proofreading. It is very frustrating, because i’m in close contact with the translator, but still nothing seems to move forward on this project.

Romania/Spain: The Romanian translator has just offered to work full-time to spread this book, so we are planning to reprint it. He has also retranslated the Spanish version, and after it gets proofread, we plan to print it. I’m hoping something good will happen with the German translation too while he is at it.

Portuguese: Nothing.

I was really hoping to push the book this year, as this is the year the General Conference is especially putting emphasis on to spread the Great Controversy book. But even if it doesn’t go as quickly as i had hoped, it is good to see some progress.

May souls be in God’s kingdom as his words return to him yielding a 100-fold 🙂

The Elijah Message by Ron and Connie Dahlke review

The Elijah Message by Ron and Connie Dahlke 2010

B-

This book’s goal is to show the path the author’s took to find that the Old Testament God is the same God of the New Testament, and how that led to accepting the Statutes of the Lord, all the while showing what the title proclaims from Malachi 4:4,5. The goal of making a case for keeping the Statutes of the Lord today is carried out, but the random-type fashion in which it is done, and the lack of focus on the message of the title prevent a higher recommendation.

The Moral Law is shown to have existed before Mt. Sinai. Suddenly the word “Torah” is inserted with no explanation, leaving the reader confused about what the point is.

Colossians 2:13-16 is shown to not be talking about doing away with any of the Feast days. In the middle of the explanation tho, the reader is taken on a trip with Paul to show that he kept the Feasts, and an explanation that sacrifices were done on the 7th day Sabbath, and then brought back again to the topic of Colossians 2.

The only thing that looks like error to me in the book is the explanation of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. The novel idea is proposed that the OC was what man made under his own power, and the NC is what God made, and just a few days after the OC was made at Sinai! Israelites who had incorporated pagan worship into their practices are said to have “fallen into the Old Covenant”. Then in talking about the Passover, it suddenly introduces the concept of having 4 cups at the meal, and the mistake of the Rabbis in calculating the correct day for the Feasts. It is this “out of the blue” aspect of the book that makes it confusing to all except those who have already studied up on this material.

All in all, the book seems to be written much more with an intent to help Seventh-day Adventists meet objections to keeping the Feasts, rather than explaining the Elijah Message. As such, the book may be useful for those who have studied a little into the Feasts, and are having difficulty explaining some inspired passages which are used to throw out the Feasts.

new video on seventh-day adventists and islam

It’s been a long while in the gestation stage, and took much longer than planned to complete, but finally the video asking many leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, of which i am a member, to repent for teaching that the god of Islam is the same as the God of the Christians, has been completed and uploaded to Youtube.

This should be very easy to understand, as the Qur’an emphatically says that god has no son, while the Bible emphatically says that he DOES have a son.

Many of us Seventh-day Adventists seem to have forgotten who Jesus is, and are telling people that the god of the Qur’an is the same as the God of the Bible.

Sura 18:4 And to warn those who say: Allah has chosen a son, 5 (A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that comes out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
1John 2:23 Anyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either.

This video is to give information to those in the SDA church who may be wondering about Islam’s god, and to call God’s remnant church to repent for denying the Son of God.

The movie is around 20 minutes long, and is in 2 parts up on YouTube:
http://youtu.be/TKnq6rbJ4Io http://youtu.be/03LNyyXjn8E

The entire script:
Once upon a time all Seventh-day
Adventists knew that Jesus
was the Son of God, and
that the only way to the
Father was thru him.
(John 14:6)

Then a shocking event occurred
on Sep. 11, 2001, causing a
rush of interest in studying
about Islam.

no more mother

Last Tuesday i found out that the mother of 2 of my English students, aged 4 and 9, that i volunteer teach at church committed suicide. What could i have done to help………? I’ve never known anyone who ever committed suicide, so my shock is all the more.

Still kind of floating in my mind now……. Why? What was the purpose of her life? – of my life?!

The grandfather is nominal Christian, and seems quite touched that some of our church people went to the viewing. He even came to church last Sabbath. Who knows, maybe God will lead the whole family to eternal life in heaven thru this trial.

Everything is for Jesus, about Jesus, and in Jesus.

Christ didn’t keep the ceremonies, but did keep the sabbaths

When i first started studying out the Feasts of the Lord at the urging of my cousin’s husband, i came across an article by Joe Crews. He lumped the feasts with the ceremonies, and showing conclusively that the ceremonies ended at the cross, said that the holy days did too. That sounded good to me, so i believed it. However, more and more i see i was wrong to believe so.

At the recent Bible Explorations Passover/Unleavened Bread campmeeting in Terra Bella California, there were few talks on the Feasts and Statutes of the Lord, but someone gave a quote by Ellen White that struck me hard, and should put this matter to rest:
*******
Advent Review and Sabbath Herald (6RH), 10-24-1899, Our Example

Christ passed through all the experiences of his childhood, youth, and manhood without the observance of ceremonial temple worship
—————
In other places, we have Jesus’ direct example that he DID keep the feasts. (Matt. 26:17 etc.)

Now tell me, when we are before the great judge of all the earth, will he be more likely to say “Well done you good and faithful servant” to those who did like Jesus did, or those who didn’t do like Jesus did?

warm fuzzies

On Tuesdays i always go to the Kobe church to do volunteer English teaching. There are 5 classes with around 28 kids. Sometimes i wonder if it is worth travelling 4 hours round trip and then being there for 5 1/2 hours or not, but the other day one mother told me her 3rd-grade son looks forward to Tuesday more than any other day of the week, and while i was gone to America he kept asking “when is danny coming back? When is the next English lesson?” and looking at the calendar to mark off the days. She said since her son has no father (i didn’t ask why), i’m like a father-figure for him. One other mother who was listening said her son feels just about the same.

Lots of happiness, and a warm, fuzzy feeling knowing you are wanted by somebody.

Feast-Keeping and the Faithful by Ron du Preez review

Feast-Keeping and the Faithful (Should Christians Observe the Annual Feast Days?) Ron du Preez 2nd Edition 2011

C-

This is a very timely book, as the subject of keeping the feasts has become fairly “hot” in the past few years among Seventh-day Adventists. Br. du Preez kindly sent me this book free after i contacted him with some questions after watching his 2-hour program on this topic on 3abn (on youtube). He has treated me nicer than any other “scholar” i’ve contacted among offical SDA employees, and if for that reason alone, i have a reason to want to like the book even before opening it. However the plethora of letters after his real name send up a slightly yellow caution flag before i flip the first page. In my brief life, i’ve found that the more letters there are behind someone’s name nearly always equals more arrogance and worldly thinking. And yes, that impression is mostly reinforced by this book. There are many instances where the “opposition” is called “ignorant” and their tool of choice – Strong’s Concordance – is savaged. Many “great scholars” of the world are quoted (which means nothing to me) and their suppositions are quoted as fact. To be fair, there is a lot of digging into the meanings of the words in the Bible, and he does believe in the entire Bible, unlike many of our “top theologians” who pick and choose which parts of the Bible they wish to believe.

The final analysis? He believes that the feasts are part of the ceremonial law, and that law is done away, so we know the feasts are done away also. However, there is no inspired proof given for that position. There are several errors of logic where he quotes some Babylonian author, and then accepts that as fact. He does a good service by showing that some of the Bible and SOP quotes used by feast-keepers to support their position are taken out of context or just false. He comes up with a new interpretation of Colossians 2:16, saying it is referring to pilgrimage, new moon and non-pilgrimage feasts. He shows that he will not accept any evidence in favor of feast-keeping, even dissing Ellen White in one instance. He strives mightily (and in vain) to link the feasts with animal sacrifices. He says to keep the feasts is to deny the atonement, then at the end of the book says it is OK for Jews to observe the feasts “merely as part of their cultural heritage”. This type of cut-and-paste theology is exactly what he accuses the feast-keepers of doing. My final impression is that he wants everyone to toe the official SDA position, whether that position is correct or not – just don’t rock the boat.

I sent him a email giving my “first impressions” on Dec. 26, 2011. After waiting more than a month for a reply, i sent him another email asking if he received my Dec. 26 email, and he replied that he had, and that he had sent a response. Sadly, i did not receive that response, and he did not offer to resend it. He asked me to read the book in detail and then reply again which i did, up to page 185, and sent him a reply to which there has not been a reply for almost 1 month now, so it looks like there will not be more communication between us.

Following are my notes (shown as “my”), things that struck me as either good or bad, but in some way important. Most of the following are actual quotes from the book, but not all. I have not capitalized most of them, as they are quotes taken from parts of sentences.
——————————————
There are 2 full pages just listing various translations used.
Br. du Preez has written a whole book to explain the sabbath in Colossians 2:16.
p.13 The Holy Spirit inspired … in their own words
“my”I believe the Holy Spirit dictated it, just as written in chapter 30 of the 1858 Great Controversy, and Testimonies volume26: “The scribes of God wrote as they were dictated by the Holy Spirit, having no control of the work themselves.”

p.22 Br. du Preez writes that we must follow Biblical methods

p.25 one could “mark” (the feasts) without observing them
“my”This starts a very troublesome assertion made several times in this book, one without any biblical support at all. That is – that while we can do something with the feasts to learn from them, we MUST NOT keep them. I fail to see any precedent for this in the inspired writings either.

p.26 The New Testament says these are “Jewish” feasts
“my”The New Testament also says salvation is “of the Jews”. So are we supposed to reject salvation because it is Jewish?!

p.29 disses Strong’s Concordance, completely rejecting it
“my”Strong’s is so vehemently dissed, that i checked the book cover to make sure the subtitle wasn’t something like “and throw away your Strong’s Concordance as fast as you can!”

p.29 Genesis 1:14 Mo’ed here simply means “fixed/appointed time”. Mo’ed is translated “assembly” about 2/3 of the time, and “festival” around 1/4
“my”This is very true. So my question is, how are we really supposed to view it? Is it wrong to view ALL these instances as connected somehow?

p.39 Proof text method of study is not good
“my”Perhaps true, but this is how the Seventh-day Adventist church was born, so to diss it now is basically saying that our church is based on a false method of bible study.

mysterious booms in wisconsin prophesied by ellen white

An Associated Press news report of March 21, 2012 titled: “Wisconsin town longs for relief from mysterious booms”
mysterious boom underground in wisconsin
made me think about these words God gave his prophet Ellen White around 150 years ago.

Important Facts of Faith, in Connection with the History of Holy Men of Old (SG3)

Before the flood there were immense forests. The trees were many times larger than any trees which we now see. They were of great durability. They would know nothing of decay for hundreds of years. At the time of the flood these forests were torn up or broken down and buried in the earth. In some places large quantities of these immense
trees were thrown together and covered with stones and earth by the commotions of the flood. They have since petrified and become coal, which accounts for the large coal beds which are now found. This coal has produced oil. God causes large quantities of coal and oil to ignite and burn. Rocks are intensely heated, limestone is burned, and iron ore melted. Water and fire under the surface of the earth meet. The action of water upon the limestone adds fury to the intense heat, and causes earthquakes, volcanoes and fiery issues. The action of fire and water upon the ledges of rocks and ore, causes loud explosions which sound like muffled thunder. These wonderful exhibitions will be more numerous and terrible just before the coming of Christ and the end of the world,
as signs of its speedy destruction.

Coal and oil are generally to be found where there are no burning mountains or fiery issues. When fire and water under the surface of the earth meet, the fiery issues cannot give sufficient vent to the heated elements beneath. The earth is convulsed–the ground trembles, heaves, and rises into swells or waves, and there are heavy sounds like thunder underground. The air is heated and suffocating. The earth quickly
opens, and I saw villages, cities and burning mountains carried down together into the earth.

God controls all these elements; they are his instruments to do his will; he calls them into action to serve his purpose. These fiery issues have been, and will be his agents to blot out from the earth very wicked cities. Like Korah, Dathan and Abiram they go down alive into the pit. These are evidences of God’s power. Those who have beheld these burning mountains have been struck with terror at the grandeur of the scene–pouring forth fire, and flame, and a vast amount of melted ore, drying up rivers and causing them to disappear. They have been filled with awe as though they were beholding the infinite power of God.

korean man copies bible 7 times

As found in Charles Tidwell’s newsletter, taken from Adventist World magazine:
“Nam Yong Han, a local elder of the Chilbo church in the Southwest Korean Conference, operates an organic farm, raising many kinds of fruits and vegetables. His agricultural techniques have been taught in many countries, including the Republic of Korea, China, North Korea, the Philippines, and Bangladesh.

“Nine yeas ago, in January 2003, while serving as a missionary in Beijing, China, Han began copying out these texts, a process he calls ‘transcriptions.’ As of October 2011 he had copied he text of the Bible seven times, as well as a series of the Conflict of the Ages books, and ‘Testimonies for the Church. Han said the hours he spends transcribing are the most joyful moments in his life.”

Wow! I hope he can help those who have no Bible get one. Makes me wonder what am i doing with my life?

save the storks aims to save lots of babies

A new way to help mothers considering aborting their babies has started in Dallas. By equipping a van and placing it in front of abortion clinics, the staff will approach people headed for the clinic and offer them a free ultrasound. They understand it is a long-term process to save even one baby, and they are requesting churches especially to show true Christianity by helping the “widows and orphans” as it were. They “seek to persuade every abortion-minded mother to choose life, and to share with them the good news of Jesus.”

http://www.savethestorks.com/

May God bless them abundantly as they work to save the littlest ones, and i do pray our Seventh-day Adventist church members will have compassion and help too.

seventh-day adventists and abortion

I’ve written a few posts already regarding the sin of God’s church in condoning abortions. Now i’ve made an 11-minute video about it. I’m hoping there will be feedback on this, to make it better, as i am certainly just an amateur!

Seventh-day Adventist Church and Abortion

The Seventh-day adventist church has an official document called “Guidelines on Abortion”. This video is to protest the position my church has taken.
——————-
My Seventh-day Adventist church prides itself on “keeping the commandments of God and having the faith of Jesus” – the 2 identifying marks of God’s church at the end time.

But the sad fact is, we make no pretensions to keeping the 6th commandment. Somehow we think that standing up for the 4th commandment like no other denomination does will make up for the killing of little, innocent children inside their mother’s wombs.
———————-
Many of our church members don’t have any idea that this is going on. We trust our leaders to be guiding the ship in a safe manner, unaware that for the sake of money, we have sold our soul.
——————–
This sad state of affairs started in earnest under the leadership of Neal Wilson in the 1970s, and every succeeding president of the church has condoned it. This is what he said while president of NAD in 1970: “Though we walk the fence, Adventists lean toward abortion rather than against it. Because we realize we are confronted by big problems of hunger and overpopulation, we do not oppose family planning and appropriate endeavors to control population.”
Ministry Magazine August 1991 Abortion: history of Adventist Guidelines

If that is not a Laodicean position, i don’t know what is.
