bible explorations tabernacles 2013 stephen dickie promotes islam

Bible Explorations, based in Terra Bella California, is doing more than any other Seventh-day Adventist group to promote the Statutes of the Lord, which include the holy days. This has been a wonderful revelation of truth to me, and i highly respect Pastor John VanDenburgh for his tireless efforts to get that word out. I even went to the Passover meetings held there in California in 2012.

So it was with shock that i read their September newsletter listing the speakers and talk titles for the upcoming October Tabernacles’ meetings – Stephen Dickie “Truth from the Qur’an”.

This is awful. This is like Moses inviting Korah to give a talk to the Israelites about the “Truth in the book of Baal worship”. With trepidation, i emailed Sandy Clark, the grand daughter of Pr. VanDenburgh, with the facts i know, hoping she would reconsider. Here is our entire email exchange:

Hello Sandy-san,
Just had to tell you all that i was really enjoying the September newsletter for Bible Explorations, when i noticed near the bottom that you all have invited Stephen Dickie to speak at Tabernacles!!!! His talk title? – “Truth in the Qur’an”.

Why was he invited?

I’ve spent a lot of time and energy refuting this man’s views that the Muslims and Christians worship the same God.
You can read what i’ve written about his writings and talks here:

And here is a detailed study i did of the Qur’an, showing where it deviates from the Bible:
http://www.timeoftrouble.com/quran/quotes-from-quran.html

The God of the Bible is emphatic that he HAS a son.
The god of the Qur’an is emphatic that he has NO son.

Please reconsider having this agent of Satan speak at your Tabernacles meetings.
Keep looking to the Son of God,

Her reply:
He does NOT believe that way, he gets to the Muslims by way of ONE GOD and His Son. 🙂 Not sure what your arguments are but Steve does believe in the one God we do, and His son.

My reply:
I have been warning people about the false gospel of Stephen Dickie for about 5 years now.
I even made a video about how some fellow SDAs are promoting the false god of the Qur’an.
Please take a look:

The part showing that yes, Stephen Dickie does indeed say that Muslims and Christians worship the same God, is between 8:10 – 10:50 .

Please call on him to repent and worship the true God, and may you retract your speaking offer.
God bless as you pray about how to move forward, always keeping your eyes on Jesus,

Her reply:
They do worship the same one…some may not realize it but they have ONE God and it is God. They are like the Jews, believe in God but not His Son. I see no problem. Maybe you need to study more, too. 🙂 He is fine and helping them find Jesus which is a WONDERFUL thing!
———
My reply:
God is not mocked. Just because the Qur’an professes to believe the God of Abraham does not make it so. The Qur’an is emphatic that God has no son, but the Bible is emphatic that God has a son. This is clear enough that anyone willing to, can see that the Qur’an is not from God, and consequently, the god of the Qur’an is not the same as the God of the Abraham, because Abraham worshiped the true God, the one who has a son.

I do agree that we should show love to the Muslims. Many of them are much more sincere and searching for truth than we Seventh-day Adventist Christians are. Would Jesus shun them? Of course not, he would try his best to reach them where they were, and, here is the important difference between what we should really be doing as Christians, and what the Adventist-Muslim people are doing – is that we should be lifting up Jesus as the Son of God, the Saviour of the world.

The Qur’an, in referring to Isa, (which is claimed to be Jesus, but is not the true Jesus), says regarding Isa: Sura 43:59 He is nothing but a slave on whom We bestowed favour, and We made him a pattern for the Children of Israel.

But the Bible says: John 14:6 Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes unto the Father, but by me.

Pretty clear here about how much the Qur’an really values the Son of God – nothing but a slave. In contrast, Jesus calls himself the way, the truth, and the life. Notice that there is no other way to God – either you go thru Jesus, or you just don’t get to God at all. This basic pillar of Christianity has been overlooked for far too long in the name of “all you need is love”.

This should be very easy to understand, as the Qur’an emphatically says that god has no son, while the Bible emphatically says that he DOES have a son.

Many of us Seventh-day Adventists seem to have forgotten who Jesus is, and are telling people that the god of the Qur’an is the same as the God of the Bible.

Sura 18:4 And to warn those who say: Allah has chosen a son, 5 (A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that comes out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
1John 2:23 Anyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either.

It is amazing to me that any Seventh-day Adventist could forget that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the only way to the one true God.

Please repent, Sandy, and believe in Jesus Christ,

Her reply:
Please stop insulting me. I do believe in Him. I do NOT believe in the trinity. I believe in the Father and His Son. Period. So what’s the big deal? Please stop, you are being rude and arrogant, Daniel. Some Muslims have a bad way of life, but many are like the Jews, believe in the One God of the Bible (The Bible says there is ONE GOD) and they just do not believe He had a son. I do and will teach them.
————

So this looks to be the end of our conversation. I will do my best to warn others, so that no one else will fall for the error of believing you can worship the Father without believing in his Son.

Jesus Christ, Son of God, how low will you let your people go before you will rise up and act?
