This book is an attempt by James White to show how the 7 Trumpets of Revelation 8-11 were all fulfilled in the physical history of the world, with the first 4 dealing with the fall of Rome, and the last three dealing with, or timed with, the rise and fall of Islam.
The content is very similar to what William Miller used in his discourses on the imminent return of Christ in 1843/4. And therein lies the big problem with this book — William Miller was a man led of God to get people ready for the move made by Jesus into the Most Holy Place in the heavenly sanctuary in 1844. But naturally, he had to have ALL the prophecies of events before Christ’s Second Coming already completed by 1843. He even proclaimed that the Catholic Church died in 1798, and would not rise again! James White makes a similar error when he favorably quotes someone stating: “The power of Islamism is broken forever.” If he could only see the rise of its power today!
What makes me put the time and energy into putting this book on the internet in 2010, is that us Seventh-day Adventists are still just repeating the same old prophetic interpretations of our forefathers, without studying for ourselves to see if these things are so. And in this book, it can be shown in several places where these things are definitely not so.
Historians Gibbon and Keith are quoted profusely throughout the book, to bolster the correctness of the Biblical interpretation. For me, that has an opposite effect, as neither of these men belonged to God’s remnant church, and thus, did not understand the Bible as we do. Now James White should have, as he is one of the founders of the Seventh-day Adventist church, laboring tirelessly, even to the point of an early grave, to raise up this church. But strangely, he ignored some of the inspired counsel in the Bible and from his own wife, which would have made him rethink the publication of this book.
Do you, as a SDA member, know what the 7 Trumpets represent? We are all told that they represent something in history, and, having been born and raised in a SDA environment, i have about as much information regarding this as anyone else. And — i cannot tell you anything more about our church’s teaching on the 7 Trumpets other than they occured sometime in the past, mostly in the fall of the Roman Empire, and don’t have much instruction for us today. Yes, that is the standard SDA teaching today, i’m very sorry to say, and this book, following on the shoulders of William Miller’s work, and leading to the “Bible” of prophetic interpretation in SDA circles ” – Thoughts on Daniel and Revelation” by Uriah Smith, played a big part in creating this problem.
Back to my question – What do the 7 Trumpets represent? According to this book:
1. Alaric
2. Genseric
3. Attila
4. The dissolution of the Roman emperor, consul, and senate
5. The rise of Islam
6. The Ottoman Empire
7. Began in 1844.
If you are saying to yourself “How can this be?” you are not alone. No wonder that our preaching of Daniel and Revelation has so little power to convict people’s hearts today. This historical fulfillment method of interpreting the 7 Trumpets just falls flat on its face. Yes, it may have been useful in the past to confirm where the people were in the stream of time, but today, we can see much more clearly that none, yes NONE of the Seven Trumpets has been sounded yet.
How can i make such a bold claim? Easily, by just reading the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy.
Rev 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
So we see that the trumpets cannot even BEGIN to sound until AFTER the 144,000 are sealed! Then what does the first angel do? – He hurts the earth and trees, just what he was told not to do, until AFTER the 144,000 are sealed: “Rev 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.”
Returning to the book review, James White writes: “‘The four angels’ are the four principal sultanies of which the Ottoman Empire is composed, located in the country of the Euphrates. These sultanies were situated at Aleppo, Iconium, Damascus, and Bagdad. Previously they had been restrained; but God commanded, and they were loosed.” How can he ignore his wife’s own writing, in 1849: “I saw that the four angels would hold the four winds until Jesus work was done in the Sanctuary, and then will come the seven last plagues.”???
Everything in referring to the 5th Trumpet, or First Woe, as Islam falls flat too. Why? Because the locusts only hurt: “the people who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.” Again, i wish to ask Brother James White why he could believe such a thing, when his own wife wrote: “The seal of God will be placed upon the foreheads of those only who sigh and cry for the abominations done in the land.” and in 1873, just two years before he published this book: “Especially in the closing work for the church, in the sealing time of the one hundred and forty-four thousand,”, showing that the sealing is yet future to 1873.
On one more point, that of considering the “day-for-year” principle, the idea of taking only 360 days to make one year does not seem compelling. We know the year has 365 1/4 or so days. If we really, really wish to follow the Jewish calendar in making our calculations, then, to be honest with ourselves, we shoud do as they do, and ADD an extra month every few years. But to my knowledge, none of my fellow SDA Brethren are doing this….. How to resolve the 2300 day prophecy, for example? By showing that it refers to one Atonement day a year, thus 2300 “evening mornings”. Perfect. And it makes the whole Sanctuary service richer. But i disgress a bit from my book review.
To sum it up, James White followed the historical method of interpreting the 7 Trumpets, considering them all to have been completed, and the 7th to have already started in his day, in 1875. In 1888 tho, Ellen White wrote emphatically that: “Trumpet after trumpet is to be sounded,” showing that at least TWO of the trumpets, and probably all 7 of them, are yet to sound.
Let’s study to show ourselves approved unto God, and to know the prophecies, including the Seven Trumpets, so we can lead others to the cross of Jesus Christ, and receive the Seal of God in our foreheads.
The power of the Holy Ghost must be upon us, and the Captain of the Lord’s host will stand at the head of the angels of heaven to direct the battle. Solemn events before us are yet to transpire. [b]Trumpet after trumpet[/b] is to be sounded, vial after vial poured out one after another upon the inhabitants of the earth. Scenes of stupendous interest are right upon us. {Mar 257.4}

The final application of the 7 Trumpets to events in the future is so powerfully written in the Bible and Spirit of Prophecy, that i can only say we, as SDAs, are willingly asleep now. May God wake us up before we are passed by.
There is some recent evidence that the historical interpretation of our founding father’s may have been more literal than they thought.
There is strong evidence now for a mountain sized asteroid striking the ocean in 536 AD. There is a double climatic dip in the dendrochronology at this time so that there is likely more than one strike. Populations fell world wide, not just in the Roman Empire.
That is certainly strange news. Of course 536AD would have no relation to anything at all in Biblical prophecy would it?
So are you saying that the trumpets will have a future fullment then? can you explain your interpretation on 1844 more fully?

Ellen White believed the Trumpets were in the past.
Sword2185, please re-read all of the post and you will find out that Ellen White emphatically said that Trumpet after trumpet is to be sounded”. Also, please notice that in the GC quote there is nothing about this actually being the final fulfillment of any trumpet at all.

What makes this strange to me, is how clear the Bible is that the trumpets must be in the future, but many of us SDAs prefer what we’ve been taught, rather than studying for ourselves.

We are under the sounding of the 7th trumpet, whose history and future contain all the history of the first six. The pioneer position is true, and we should not step off that foundation. By understanding their position, we can better interpret current events. That History is to repeat itself is a prophetic principle. We can only understand the future application of the trumpets as we understand what God had done in the past. Some food for thought on that trumpet after trumpet quote: Trumpets are simply a symbol for war and the trumpets were a type of the end of the world which is why they are associated with the vials of the seven last plagues. Mrs. Sleeve, the web site you recommend shows the 7 Trumpets to be in the past. This is a “go to sleep” message. Please notice that the final fulfillment cannot possibly be in the past, as the 7 Trumpets don’t even start until the 144,000 are all sealed!!

By no means is the historial application of the trumpets a go to sleep message. You likely did not listen to the presentations on the trumpets 5 through 7. The simple rule of prophetic interpretation is that History will repeat itsef. If we reject the history, then we will misinterpret events of the future. It is not possible that the final fulfillment of the 7 Trumpets has occurred. The interpretation given on the mygospelworkers web site believes that the historical interpretation is correct, and then reapplies that to the end with basically a look at the current headlines in the newspapers to determine what the outcome will be.

For example, The 6th Trumpet – The Fall of the Islamic Powers and Its Modern Application says that the historical application to Islam is true, and there is also a future application to Islam with those nations getting weapons etc. etc.

There is no possible way that is true. Please look at the 5th and 6th angels, and read the words for the words, not for what we “think” the words might mean.

Again, the locusts of the 5th angel do not hurt those with the seal of God, and they do not kill anybody. This is just too obvious to overlook. The 6th Trumpet angels have 200,000,000 horses and kill 1/3 of all mankind.

Never stated that the seven trumpets have already met their complete fulfillment. On the contrary the prophecies of 7’s in the book of Revelation (the seven churches, the seven trumpets, the seven seals, etc.) extend to our day. As a matter of fact, Sister White states that not only does the number seven signify completion, but it is ” is symbolic of the fact that the messages extend to the end of time” (AA, p. 587). I simply believe that we are living in the time of the blowing of the 7th trumpet. And let us not forget that it was Josiah’s Litches exposition of the 7 trumpets (in particular Revelation 9 and the prediction of the fall of the Ottoman Empire) that Sister White stated in the Great Controversy “…When it became known, multitudes were convinced of the correctness of the principles of prophetic interpretation adopted by Miller and his associates, and a wonderful impetus was given to the Advent movement.” (p. 334 & 335). The Bible record is clear: “That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.” (Eccl 3:15). If we want to interpret the future correctly, we must believe and understand the record of prophetic history. If we make a future interpretation that is not based on past record, then we are in danger of misinterpreting and missing future events. Also, the handouts are made to go with the audio messages. So without listening to the audios, you only get half the picture, the historical one.

If we would only understand what has happened in the past, we would see just how near the coming of our Lord and Savior is right now. We are looking for these big events to take place in the future, but small ones are happening all around us right now. “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is AT HAND” (Revelation 1:3). The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is sooner than many now believe. The correct understanding of the 7 trumpets teach us that today. Spiritual things are spiritually discerned.

7 Trumpets warn of the 7 Last Plagues? You need to compare them side by side. Ellen White says what is the warning for the Plagues:
The most solemn warning and the most awful threatening ever addressed to mortals is that contained in the third angel’s message. The sin that calls down the wrath of God unmixed with mercy must be of the most heinous character. Is the world left in darkness as to the nature of this sin?–Most assuredly not. God does not deal thus with His creatures. His wrath is never visited upon sins of ignorance. Before His judgments are to brought upon the earth, the light in regard to this sin must be presented to the world, that man may know why these judgments are to be inflicted, and may have an opportunity to escape them. {ST, November 1, 1899 par. 7}
Notice that it is not mentioned that this is THE 7,this is an assertion. Also notice in these two the connection of Trumpets and Plagues:
“Solemn events before us are yet to transpire. Trumpet after trumpet is to be sounded; vial after vial poured out one after another upon the inhabitants of the earth.”–3SM 426 (1890). {LDE 238.1}
“After John’s description in Revelation 16 of that miracle-working power which was to gather the world to the last great conflict, the symbols are dropped and the trumpet voice once more gives a certain sound: “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame” [Rev. 16:15]. 14MR 96, (1896).

So it truly seems that by preaching the 7 Trumpets in the future to warn of the 7 last plagues; THIS SITE IS NOT PREACHING THE 3 ANGELS MESSAGES which is the warning for the 7 last plagues:
The proclamation of the first, second, and third angels’ messages has been located by the word of Inspiration. Not a peg or pin is to be removed. No human authority has any more right to change the location of these messages than to substitute the New Testament for the Old. The Old Testament is the gospel in figures and symbols. The New Testament is the substance. One is as essential as the other. . . . These messages we are to give to the world in publications, in discourses, showing in the line of prophetic history the things that have been, and the things that will be–Manuscript 32, 1896. {CW 26.2}
In the future, deception of every kind is to arise, and we want solid ground for our feet. We want solid pillars for the building. Not one pin is to be removed from that which the Lord has established. . . . Where shall we find safety unless it be in the truths that the Lord has been giving for the last fifty years?–Review and Herald, May 25, 1905. {Ev 610.3}
And many are doing the same thing (as the Pharisees by misapplying prophecy) today, in 1897, because they have not had experience in the testing messages comprehended in the first, second, and third angel’s messages. There are those who are searching the Scriptures for proof that these messages are still in the future. They gather together the truthfulness of the messages, but they fail to give them their proper place in prophetic history. Therefore such are in danger of misleading the people in regard to locating the messages. They do not see and understand the time of the end, or when to locate the messages. The day of God is coming with stealthy tread, but the supposed wise and great men are prating about “higher education.” They know not the signs of Christ’s coming, or of the end of the world.–Manuscript 136, 1897. {Ev 613.1}
The evidence before us of the fulfillment of prophecy declares that the end of all things is at hand. There is much important work to be done out of and away from Battle Creek. There will be need of sanitariums in many of the cities of the south, as well as in other parts of America. {KC 71.1} {BCL 48.4}
Every child of God should be intelligent in the Scriptures, and able, by tracing the fulfillment of prophecy, to show our position in this world’s history. The Bible was written for the common people as well as for scholars, and is within the comprehension of all. The great truths which underlie man’s duty to his fellow men and to his Maker are clearly revealed; and those who really want the truth need make no mistake. The way is not left in uncertainty, as though we were standing where four roads met, not knowing which one to take. The truth is our guide; it is to us like a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. {CSW 23.1}
The many contradictory opinions in regard to what the Bible teaches do not arise from any obscurity in the book itself, but from blindness and prejudice on the part of interpreters. Men ignore the plain statements of the Bible to follow their own perverted reason. Priding themselves on their intellectual attainments, they overlook the simplicity of truth; they forsake the fountain of living waters to drink of the poisonous stream of error.–Review and Herald, Jan. 27, 1885. {CSW 23.2}
All who join the ranks of Sabbathkeepers should become diligent Bible students, that they may know the pillars and groundwork of the truth. They should study prophetic history, which has brought us down point by point to where we are at the present time. This is God’s plan for our school. Young men should attend who desire to become educated for any line of work, who have capabilities, and see the necessity of learning more and still more where we stand today in prophetic history, uniting link after link in the prophetic chain, even from Genesis to Revelation. Christ is the Alpha, the first link, and the Omega, the last link, of the gospel chain, which is welded in Revelation. These young men will not have fixed habits of wrong, or defects in disposition and character that will make them inflexible. {10MR 171.1}
“There have been one and another who in studying their Bibles thought they discovered great light, and new theories, but these have not been correct. The Scripture is all true, but by misapplying the Scripture men arrive at wrong conclusions. We are engaged in a mighty conflict, and it will become more close and determined as we near the final struggle. We have a sleepless adversary, and he is constantly at work upon human minds that have not had a personal experience in the teachings of the people of God for the past fifty years. Some will take the truth applicable to their time, and place it in the future. Events in the train of prophecy that had their fulfillment away in the past are made future, and thus by these theories the faith of some is undermined. . . . {2SM 102.2}
The leadings of the Lord were marked, and most wonderful were His revelations of what is truth. Point after point was established by the Lord God of heaven. That which was truth then, is truth today. But the voices do not cease to be heard–“This is truth. I have new light.” But these new lights in prophetic lines are manifest in misapplying the Word and setting the people of God adrift without an anchor to hold them. If the student of the Word would take the truths which God has revealed in the leadings of His people, and appropriate these truths, digest them, and bring them into their practical life, they would then be living channels of light. But those who have set themselves to study out new theories, have a mixture of truth and error combined, and after trying to make these things prominent, have demonstrated that they have not kindled their taper from the divine altar, and it has gone out in darkness.” {Ms 31, 1896.}
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God,” are the words of our Saviour. Errors in doctrine are multiplying and twining themselves with serpentlike subtlety around the affections of the people. There is not a doctrine of the Bible that has not been denied. The great truths of prophecy, showing our position in the history of the world, have been shorn of their beauty and power by the clergy, who seek to make these all-important truths dark and incomprehensible. In many cases the children are drifting away from the old landmarks. The Lord commanded His people Israel: “When thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God hath commanded you? then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh’s bondmen in Egypt; and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: and the Lord showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: and He brought us out from thence, that He might bring us in, to give us the land which He sware unto our fathers. And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that He might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as He hath commanded us.” {5T 330.1}
And since your talking about dual application–A prophecy can be fulfilled more than once. I for see that all who do this will left with none other choice than to take up the prophecies of Christ’s 1st Advent and place them in the future!
Hal, Please understand that this post is regarding the 7 Trumpets, not about the prophecies referring to Jesus Christ’s first coming. The Bible says the 7 Trumpets happen AFTER the sealing of the 144,000. Has that sealing taken place in the past?
No! That is where your WRONG!
1888 GC places the 5th 6th Before 1840 and 7th began in 1844. Under which the 7 plagues fall “thy wrath has come” Rev 11:18; Rev 16:1

The Holy Spirit flatters no man, neither does it work according to the devising of any man. Finite, sinful men are not to work the Holy Spirit. When it shall come as a reprover, through any human agent whom God shall choose, it is man’s place to hear and obey its voice. {TM 64.3}
Hal, I’ve mentioned it before, but will mention it again: To take the Bible as it reads, it is very clear that the 144,000 are sealed BEFORE the 1st Trumpet blows. Also, it is amazingly clear that in the time of the 5th Trumpet, only those without this seal of God get hurt.

I am so sorry You don’t believe or agree with the SOP! And Millers rule number 6:
” God has revealed things to come, by visions, in figures and parables; and in this way the same things are oftentime revealed again and again, by different visions, or in different figures and parables. If you wish to understand them, you must combine them all in one. ”
Go through the quotes (GC 1888) posted on your page and you’ll find that EGW does not agree with you nor the Bible.

First of all–Rev. chapters “4 & 5” do not say it was in the “Holy of Holies.” This is an assertion for God did meet with the children of Israel in the Holy place also. See Ex. 29:42, 43. ect. There was a work in the Holy place to be accomplished before the work in the Most Holy Place on the DAY OF ATONEMENT!
Second of all–Rev. 6:12, 13 are an duplication of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. John put his account of these events in the book of Revelation!!! See below.
Thirdly: The first 5 of the Seals are before 1798 the sacred historian does this! The 6th pertains to the closing seen of this earth and Second Coming! The 7th is the view of Heaven during the same! Compare these accounts of Matt. 24:29, 30, Mark 13:24-26, Luke 21:25-27 with Johns in Rev. 6:12-16 as follows.
Note: Rev. 7 comes in between verses 13 and 14 of Rev. 6!
The Tribulation of Rev. 6:9, 10, 11–Matt. 24:29, Mark 13:24!
Rev. 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
Matt. 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days
Mark says it thus: 13:24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,
“in those days” refers to Papal reign of 1260 years beginning 538, “after that tribulation,” but “shortened for the elects sake.” This tribulation ended in 1755 A.D. and before “those days” (1260) would expire (1798) we would have the first event in the series; the Lisbon earth quake of Nov. 1, 1755. Sun darkened May 19, 1780. Moon became blood evening of May 19, 1780. Stars fell Nov. 13, 1833.

Luke. 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
All these verses talk of the same events, notice where EGW places Rev. 6:12!!!
Prophecy not only foretells the manner and object of Christ’s coming, but presents tokens by which men are to know when it is near. Said Jesus: “There shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars.” Luke 21:25. “The sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” Mark 13:24-26. The revelator thus describes the first of the signs to precede the second advent: “There was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.” Revelation 6:12.
These signs were witnessed before the opening of the nineteenth century. In fulfillment of this prophecy there occurred, in the year 1755, the most terrible earthquake that has ever been recorded. Though commonly known as the earthquake of Lisbon, it extended to the greater part of Europe, Africa, and America. It was felt in Greenland, in the West Indies, in the island of Madeira, in Norway and Sweden, Great Britain and Ireland. It pervaded an extent of not less than four million square miles. In Africa the shock was almost as severe as in Europe. A great part of Algiers was destroyed; and a short distance from Morocco, a village containing eight or ten thousand inhabitants was swallowed up. A vast wave swept over the coast of Spain and Africa engulfing cities and causing great destruction. GC88 304.1, 2.
The Saviour gives signs of His coming, and more than this, He fixes the time when the first of these signs shall appear: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
At the close of the great papal persecution, Christ declared, the sun should be darkened, and the moon should not give her light. Next, the stars should fall from heaven. And He says, “Learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: so likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that He is near, even at the doors.” Matt. 24:32, 33, margin.
Christ has given signs of His coming. He declares that we may know when He is near, even at the doors. He says of those who see these signs, “This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” These signs have appeared. Now we know of a surety that the Lord’s coming is at hand. “Heaven and earth shall pass away,” He says, “but My words shall not pass away.” DA 631.2-632.2.

The sealing time Rev. 7 (not to be confused with the 7 seals) began in 1844 with the proclamation of the 3rd Angels message. Hence the 3rd Angels message is the sealing message, EW 89, 118.
The sealing time covers from 1844 to the close of probation. Notice:
The enemies of the present truth have been trying to open the door of the holy place, that Jesus has shut, and to close the door of the most holy place, which He opened in 1844, where the ark is, containing the two tables of stone on which are written the ten commandments by the finger of Jehovah. {EW 43.1}
Satan is now using every device in this sealing time to keep the minds of God’s people from the present truth and to cause them to waver. I saw a covering that God was drawing over His people to protect them in the time of trouble; and every soul that was decided on the truth and was pure in heart was to be covered with the covering of the Almighty. {EW 43.2}
Some of these agents of Satan were affecting the bodies of some of the saints–those whom they could not deceive and draw away from the truth by a Satanic influence. Oh, that all could get a view of it as God revealed it to me, that they might know more of the wiles of Satan and be on their guard! I saw that Satan was at work in these ways to distract, deceive, and draw away God’s people, just now in this sealing time. I saw some who were not standing stiffly for present truth. Their knees were trembling, and their feet sliding, because they were not firmly planted on the truth, and the covering of Almighty God could not be drawn over them while they were thus trembling. {EW 44.1}
Satan was trying his every art to hold them where they were, until the sealing was past, until the covering was drawn over God’s people, and they left without a shelter from the burning wrath of God, in the seven last plagues. God has begun to draw this covering over His people, and it will soon be drawn over all who are to have a shelter in the day of slaughter. God will work in power for His people; and Satan will be permitted to work also. {EW 44.2}
My dear brethren and sisters, let the commandments of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ be in your minds continually and let them crowd out worldly thoughts and cares. When you lie down and when you rise up, let them be your meditation. Live and act wholly in reference to the coming of the Son of man. The sealing time is very short, and will soon be over. Now is the time, while the four angels are holding the four winds, to make our calling and election sure. {EW 58.2}
The Lord’s work has been hindered, the sealing time delayed. Many have not heard the truth. But the Lord will give them a chance to hear and be converted, and the great work of God will go forward.–Letter 106, 1897. {15MR 292.4}
This sealing time has been prolonged-delayed by the mercy of Christ. EW 38, LS 118-9.
Close of probation for SDA’s before the Sunday-Law?

This is the test that the people of God must have before they are sealed. Recently a very interesting conference was held at 3ABN headquarters to discuss this particular subject – the 7 Trumpets.

Interesting video Marcos, but no, the 7 Trumpets have not started yet. It is a bit dangerous to try and force-fit things in the past to prophecy.

Basically that is what the historical method of interpretation has led us to, which is probably one big reason many “conservative” Seventh-day Adventists now are running after all sorts of conspiracy theories, because they are still trying to micro force-fit every page of the newspaper into God’s prophecies.

On the flip-side of that, many people see the inconsistencies in the “interpretation” and the prophecy itself, and they get turned off.

hopefulone, It is nice to see a whole web site devoted to the topic of the 7 Trumpets, but when it says the end times started in 2008, and that Jesus will return in 2015, i know for sure that there is serious error. I really want to study more about the Jubilees, as i believe you are right on when you try to show how they are a prophecy pointing to the end times.

I met one of these men at the last GC Session in Atlanta, and know that he believes very much that the 7 Trumpets are in the future, but will not push the issue, as he wishes to keep the harmony in the church. That may be wise or not, i don’t know, but i respect him for not pushing his views on others 🙂
