move or not?

Three weeks ago my apartment building caretaker gave a tenant all the keys in the place, and he got into my room and stole all my money (which i’ve gotten around 60% back). Now, this morning, i open my door to see seven men standing around, and two of them flash police badges. They asked me about the man who just moved in next door, and i tell them that a couple of ladies moved in, and i saw a man with them last Friday. They sing karaoke until late at nite, and when i knocked on their door 2 nites ago, around 10:30, they turned it off. The police asked me to knock on that door, which i did, but thot it was very strange. No one came, so i told them i needed to get to work, and as i had finished my cucumber and cracker that was the tail end of my breakfast, i vamoosed.

Should i stay or should i go?

  1. Go man Go! leave, evict yourself, go fly a kite, take off, BUT do pack your stuff and get out of that building.
Big sister is watching you. Praying for you. Wishing the best for you. Don’t be a cheap-skate on rent and in the next rented apartment get your own extra outside lock on the door.
Yiker! You thought you were being pious by saving on rent money but look at how the balances kipped that you lost more than you saved in the time you were there. 🙁

  2. “but look at how the balances kipped that you lost more than you saved in the time you were there”.

It was an experience to test me more than all the gold in the world. I agree that this thot crossed my mind also, but i’m sure i made no mistake in going to this place, and had taken all precautions i knew of, like locking my door etc.

God could have set his angel in front of the door, but he chose not to. That’s why i know that this experience is something God wanted me to have, to test me. I pray i passed that test.

BTW, now i have put an extra lock on the door. It is illegal in countries i have lived in before for a renter to put his own lock on the door, so i did not do that here either until now. Also, my friend said i could use her bank account, so have put my money in there.

Regarding the police knocking on the room next door – my friend called the police and they told her a spy had informed them that the man there was a drug-pusher. When i asked the building caretaker, she told me that it was actually the same number room in the apt. building next to mine that the police were supposed to go to.

May God work on the hearts of all the people involved in stealing the money God has given me, and may i be even more vigilant to be a good steward 🙂

  3. Drug pusher neighbor? Now it’s getting really interesting. With you putting your money into the bank account of someone else who has access to the amount…yikes!… I could only shake my head and wonder about what is wrong with you that that you don’t open in your own name on a bank account??
The legends or myths about you are now no doubt circulating among the apartment house residents, and those in the neighborhood, how rich you are and that you keep such large amounts in your sock under the pillow (or such…)
… we bet a bottom dollar you’ll get busted again. The lock picking of any lock is elementry for all profi-drug thiefs on the prowl.
Moving to another area and starting over again with stranger status would be wiser. However.. if you want to live on the edge than stay put and entertain us with the second enstallment of real life “Cops and Robbers” stories.

    grin-smile- LOL

  4. haha 🙂
I know the post about having all the money stolen is very long, but in there it mentions that i cannot open a bank account as i don’t have the proper visa to do that.

Money is important, but how much can we take to heaven 🙂

    What would you do?
