Collegedale, Tennessee, home of Southern Adventist University, has a population that is approximately half SDA. The town recently became the first in Tennessee to extend health benefits to those with same-sex spouses.

One of those SDAs voting in favor of the measure used this logic to support his case:
“What the Lord wants you to be is just, merciful, and humble. That’s my goal,” he said. “Why penalize someone when they’re born a certain way? … These people suffer enough, just give them a break.”
This is the fruit of preaching love, love, love, until love has no more meaning, so people can feel comfortable in a life of sin in direct opposition to God.

Wolf Jedamski, church administrator and pastor of global mission at Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists, said that only about three congregants of the 3,000-member-plus congregation have called him worried about the issue.
“Some members see this as a homosexual issue or a marriage issue. The church sees this as a city issue, and we are not going to get involved in it,” Jedamski said. “It’s not really true anymore that the city of Collegedale is a city of Seventh-day Adventists. It’s grown much more diverse, and that’s a good thing.”

Wow, way to generalize. Not everyone thought the vote was right. And I’ve heard firsthand that the reporter took Jedamski’s words out of context to feed her stories slant. You should know better than to trust a news article at face value. To judge all of Collegedale and compare it to Sodom reveals your own heart and its willingness to lump everyone into the pit of fire. You’re speaking from a large amount of ignorance. Words matter and I fear you’re using yours far too carelessly.
