“Harlot and the Beast” video by Prophecy Research Initiative

I just put up a video i made on youtube. It was originally a powerpoint presentation made by Br. Franklin Fowler. The subject is how the selection of the next pope may show us exactly where we are in the stream of prophecy. Of course it all hinges on the interpretation that the list of 5 kings fallen, one is, and one is yet to come, and then the 8th who is of the 7 — all started at the signing of the Lateran Treaty in 1929. If that assumption is incorrect, then this study is incorrect too. But if it is true, then this study looks to be the most Biblically and SOP based study on end-time events anywhere in the world today, and we are headed quickly into the final days of this earth’s history.

May we be good Bereans to see if these things are so.

“The Gospel” sermon video by Eric Ludy

This sermon of just over 11 minutes gives the gospel so succinctly, and so straight, it makes me wonder why God’s remnant people can’t have the gospel preached so powerfully among them? Fellow Seventh-day Adventists, are we so bound up with programs and church work and fearing man rather than God that we are afraid to hear the gospel spoken to us straight?

I’m afraid that chapter 33 of the original Great Controversy book (The Sins of Babylon) is very true even among us:

I saw the state of the different churches since the second angel proclaimed their fall. They have been growing more and more corrupt; yet they bear the name of being Christ’s followers. It is impossible to distinguish them from the world. Their ministers take their text from the Word, but preach smooth things. The natural heart feels no objection to this. It is only the spirit and power of the truth, and the salvation of Christ, that is hateful to the carnal heart. There is nothing in the popular ministry that stirs the wrath of Satan, makes the sinner tremble, or applies to the heart and conscience the fearful realities of a judgment soon to come. Wicked men are generally pleased with a form without true godliness, and they will aid and support such a religion. Said the angel, Nothing less than the whole armor of righteousness can overcome, and retain the victory over the powers of darkness. Satan has taken full possession of the churches as a body. The sayings and doings of men are dwelt upon instead of the plain cutting truths of the word of God. Said the angel, The friendship and spirit of the world are at enmity with God. When truth in its simplicity and strength, as it is in Jesus, is brought to bear against the spirit of the world, it awakens the spirit of persecution at once. Many, very many, who profess to be christians, have not known God. The character of the natural heart has not been changed, and the carnal mind remains at enmity with God. They are Satan’s own faithful servants, notwithstanding they have assumed another name.

I highly recommend this short sermon video, and if you can watch the whole thing without crying, you are definitely made out of different stuff than i am.

one of us initiative in europe to save unborn

There is a new organization in Europe with the goal of protecting the unborn by juridicial means at the EU level. Called “One of Us”, this is being called the strongest push yet for protection of the unborn within the EU. If they can get 1,000,000 signatures, the EU parliament will be forced to take up the issue and debate on it.

http://www2.oneofus.eu/

Surprisingly, even the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s (which carries out abortions in its hospitals) flagship mouthpiece – Adventist Review, has even published a piece about this new initiative in a neutral – positive light. The title is: “Europeans Launch Campaign to Recognize Life at Conception”.

Perhaps the time has come for us to repent of our great sin and take the moral high ground back instead of ceding it all to the Roman Catholic Church?

touching story of a true mother

Recently a British couple were told their baby would be born with severe defects, but they decided to have him anyway.
Couldn’t abort after seeing 3d scan of baby

Quoting:
A three-month scan seemed fine, but a 20-week scan revealed complications. After further tests, doctors dropped the bombshell that their baby’s brain had not formed properly — and he would be born severely disabled.

The couple, from Telford, Shrops, were warned by experts at Birmingham Children’s Hospital their child would never walk or talk and would need 24-hour care.

But the amazing real-time moving 3D test scans had shown Lucian smiling, blowing bubbles, kicking and waving his arms.

Training administrator Katyia said: “Despite all the awful things I was being told, while he was inside me his quality of life looked to be wonderful — he was a joy to watch.

“It was my duty as a mother to protect that no matter how long he had left. He deserved to live.”
——————–
May God bless the parents, and may they meet their little child safe in the arms of Jesus at the resurrection of the just.

Now when will God’s remnant church, the SDA Church, get off the fence and put a stop to murder of innocent kids in our own hospitals?

president repents for sins! (in uganda)

It is amazing that any country’s president would publicly repent for personal and national sins, but that is exactly what happened in Uganda recently. The occasion was the 50th anniversary celebrations of their independence.

The whole prayer of repentance is here: http://allafrica.com/stories/201210181330.html

At the National Jubilee Prayers in Namboole, President Yoweri Museveni made history when he openly repented his sins and the sins of Uganda, a move that has excited many religious leaders. Moses Mulondo brings you the prayer verbatim

Father God in heaven, today we stand here as Ugandans, to thank you for Uganda. We are proud that we are Ugandans and Africans. We thank you for all your goodness to us.

I stand here today to close the evil past and especially in the last 50 years of our national leadership history and at the threshold of a new dispensation in the life of this nation. I stand here on my own behalf and on behalf of my predecessors to repent. We ask for your forgiveness.

We confess these sins, which have greatly hampered our national cohesion and delayed our political, social and economic transformation.

We confess sins of idolatry and witchcraft which are rampant in our land. We confess sins of shedding innocent blood, sins of political hypocrisy, dishonesty, intrigue and betrayal.

Forgive us of sins of pride, tribalism and sectarianism; sins of laziness, indifference and irresponsibility; sins of corruption and bribery that have eroded our national resources; sins of sexual immorality, drunkenness and debauchery; sins of unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred and revenge; sins of injustice, oppression and exploitation; sins of rebellion, insubordination, strife and conflict.

These sins and many others have characterised our past leadership, especially the last 50 years of our history. Lord forgive us and give us a new beginning. Give us a heart to love you, to fear you and to seek you. Take away from us all the above sins.

We pray for national unity. Unite us as Ugandans and eliminate all forms of conflict, sectarianism and tribalism. Help us to see that we are all your children, children of the same Father. Help us to love and respect one another and to appreciate unity in diversity.

We pray for prosperity and transformation. Deliver us from ignorance, poverty and disease. As leaders, give us wisdom to help lead our people into political, social and economic transformation.

We want to dedicate this nation to you so that you will be our God and guide. We want Uganda to be known as a nation that fears God and as a nation whose foundations are firmly rooted in righteousness and justice to fulfil what the Bible says in Psalm 33:12: Blessed is the nation, whose God is the Lord. A people you have chosen as your own.

I renounce all the evil foundations and covenants that were laid in idolatry and witchcraft. I renounce all the satanic influence on this nation. And I hereby covenant Uganda to you, to walk in your ways and experience all your blessings forever.

I pray for all these in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Wow! Would that leaders of “Christian” nations would do such a heavenly-inspired thing. God bless Uganda!

mission tv and gmi delete those who point out sin

This is quite funny in a sad sort of way.

I was interviewed at the 2010 Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Session in Atlanta, Georgia by MissionTV which is affiliated with Gospel Ministries International and Jesus for Asia. The interview was around 7 or 8 minutes i guess, and focused on my work in spreading the 1858 edition of the Great Controversy around the world in the various languages.

There were interviews with close to 30 other missionary/evangelist types at that time. While volunteering at GMI in 2010, i was involved with editing these interviews, altho i was not directly involved with editing my own. I did see the finished result of my edited interview, and it looked very good, and was up on the web for awhile.

Well, in looking recently at the list of interviews available to watch, it is funny to see that they all go in numerical sequence, with an omission of number 22. http://missiontv.com/tv/category/mission-tv-special-59th-gc/

Hmmmm, wonder who that might be? Might it have anything to do with the fact that i pointed out some of the sins of the leaders of Jesus for Asia and Gospel Ministries International and was booted off their campus for such indiscretions?

I pray those leaders will repent and turn to Jesus and follow his words: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

m or m for president?

America is facing a presidential election again. While God’s children are not to get involved in political parties, we are to be involved with using our God-given right to vote for the person who will uphold the morals as given by God in the best manner.

The idea of taking from the rich by force to give to the poor is not biblical. This is what all recent president’s have been for (as obviously it helps provide votes), but President Obama has carried this to extremes, with a record 46,000,000 Americans on food stamps today! Not only is it wrong to take from the rich to give to the poor, but in fact, America is more and more borrowing from other countries to satisy our own greed to have the good life now, and pass the future cost to the next generation. It is clearly unsustainable, with over 1,000,000,000,000usd of new debt added each year under the current president. We need someone who will at least attempt to staunch the tide of red ink before America has to go around begging our creditors to have patience with us as we cannot pay them back.

There are several other points of difference between the 2 main candidates, but the most important issue for me is what each candidate will do to support the lives of the most helpless – what will they do on the subject of abortion. In this issue, there is a huge difference. President Obama said before he became president that the first law he would pass would be a bill allowing more late-term abortions. He did pass that bill, and has consistently shown to be heartless when it comes to saving any unborn baby. Candidate Romney has had a journey in his life, it seems, on this issue. At first glance, it looks like he is a flip-flopper, because when he was governor of Massachusetts he was definitely for killing the unborn, while now is strongly for protecting them. In reading about his life tho, he was for abortion because a relative died from a botched abortion, but recently he has seen how terrible it is to kill a helpless baby inside its own mother, and has “converted” to protecting the unborn. A short comparison of the 2 main candidate’s views on abortion can be seen here: http://www.nrlc.org/Records/potuscomparison.pdf

The difference is stark. One candidate is for destroying little babies, while the other is for protecting them. God’s word is very clear on what he thinks about human life whether inside the mother’s womb or out of it: Ps 22:10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou [art] my God from my mother’s belly.

So while it is extremely disappointing to see the acknowledged “main” Christian nation on earth having a choice for a leader who is Mormon or basically Muslim, there is still a clear choice to make in deciding who will be closer to following God’s moral commands.

May we pray and make the right decision, and ask God to heal our country.

Tomomi’s story/ともみさんの証し

Tomomi gives a short (4min) testimony of how she came to Christ. This is one of the most powerful Japanese testimonies i’ve ever heard, and a very interesting result to a horrendous crime. Surely God will turn Satan’s apparent victories against him 🙂

sabbath on the 10th day of the seventh month

Since i started studying carefully last year to determine for myself whether October 22, 1844 is the correct day for Jesus to go into the Most Holy Place that year, i have been brought back time and time again to the obvious, completely overlooked fact – that at least one of God’s festivals has very important meaning for us, and marks a specific day in God’s salvation plan many years after the cross.

This has led me into deeper study of God’s festivals in general. I thot it would be easy to show that they are all “sabbath”s, but according the best information i can currently find in the inspired words, the only “sabbath” other than of course the 7th day sabbath, is the Day of Atonement – the 10th day of the 7th month. The exact same Hebrew is used to describe both – “shabbath” “sabbathown”.

So why do we Seventh-day Adventists continue to throw one of these sabbaths away at the cross, while clinging diligently to the other? Have we forgotten our October 22, 1844 roots?

Last week i put a video i made calling fellow SDAs to consider the claims of the sabbath of the 10th day of the seventh month up on youtube:
http://youtu.be/CdI55U7HY4k

The format is a response to a fellow SDA believer who made a video supporting the 7th day sabbath here:

I’m still studying this all out, and earnestly desire your advice, questions, and comments.

May Jesus receive all the glory!

iranian pastor freed!

Youcef Nadarkhani, the Iranian pastor who captured the hearts of millions as he stood firm in his faith while facing execution, has been acquitted of apostasy.

http://www.christianpost.com/news/iran-pastor-youcef-nadarkhani-acquitted-of-apostasy-released-from-jail-81291/

Praise the Lord for keeping this pastor firm during the trial of his faith. His refusal to recant is a powerful witness to all of us who will soon be faced with similar circumstances in supposedly “Christian” countries as we enter the Time of Trouble.

hollywood producer gives powerful sabbath witness to oprah

Watch a short clip of DeVon Franklin, the senior VP of production at Columbia Pictures, sharing his faith with Oprah Winfrey on her TV show, Super Soul Sunday. He explains clearly the 7th day Sabbath, and his experiences in keeping it in Hollywood.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_onuImgW8JE&feature=youtu.be

“If your faith won’t fit in the door that opens, then i argue “Do not walk thru that door”. The door that God opens for you will fit your faith.”

May all of God’s people have such strong faith as we near the Time of Trouble.

evolution and creation allegory youtube debate

On YouTube there are vigorous discussions regarding Evolution and Creation. I usually point out that Origin of Species, a foundational doctrine of Evolution, has never been observed in action. Of course i know an even deeper error in the Evolutionary theology is that they have no explanation for how life appeared, but since they usually punt that question away to abiogenesis, you cannot really have a discussion about life origins. That is why i choose species origins, as they all agree that this doctrine is part of Evolution. And yes, i know the crux of the whole Evolutionary religion is that the leaders and believers of it want to find a way to forget God, as God will hold us all accountable for what we do in this life. But again, they just pooh-pooh such talk as being a “belief system”, “unobserved”, and “contrary to science”. So that is why i try to show that their “science” is really a belief system, as no one actually observed anything happening millions of years ago.

Today i wrote up a little allegory for YouTube commenters. It is exactly 500 letters long to fit the YouTube comment limit. Any advice or comments on this would be appreciated.

An owner of a field brought many parts to it, and then left on a trip after writing down what he did. Some people came along later who didn’t like the field owner, saw the parts, and said that they got there as a result of a big explosion. They made everything match their belief, not the words of the field owner, and often not even their observations. The parts observed by those who believed the field owner and those who didn’t were the same.

What should the field owner do when he comes back?

no more mother

Last Tuesday i found out that the mother of 2 of my English students, aged 4 and 9, that i volunteer teach at church committed suicide. What could i have done to help………? I’ve never known anyone who ever committed suicide, so my shock is all the more.

Still kind of floating in my mind now……. Why? What was the purpose of her life? – of my life?!

The grandfather is nominal Christian, and seems quite touched that some of our church people went to the viewing. He even came to church last Sabbath. Who knows, maybe God will lead the whole family to eternal life in heaven thru this trial.

Everything is for Jesus, about Jesus, and in Jesus.
