  1. Just got a email reply back from the Loma Linda Alumni Association:
    .
    Good Morning Daniel,
    .
    Gregory Boyle has been an advocate for at risk and gang involved youth in Los Angeles and around the world for some 25 years. He is best known for founding Homeboy Industries which has as its roots “Jobs for a Future,” which has been an effort to address the escalating problems and unmet needs of gang involved youth. Fr. Greg has become a natural model for successful gang intervention and Homeboy Industries in LA has become a place where former gang member have found a second chance at life. In December 2011, Fr. Greg was inducted into the California Hall of Fame for his contributions. His book “Tattoos on the Heart” released in 2010 records the boundless compassion shown to gang members.
    .
    “It is an astonished book . . . about suffering and dying, death and resurrection, one of my favorite books in years. It is lovely and tough and reaches beyond my ability to describe and left me in tears of both sorrow and laughter.”
    .
    The audience will be amazed at the stories as told by Fr. Greg . . . who has been totally committed to reshaping and redirecting the lives of countless young gang members (from LA’s gang culture). He is a person who reminds all that every single child and youth is a part of God’s jurisdiction, and when we see them as God does; one knows that they are capable of great things.
    ===================
    I wrote back that i hope they will repent and follow Jesus.
