really big decision

Still haven’t firmly decided what to do with the 1858gc anime.  Should i have it made in Flash (2D), for around 40,000usd, or go all the way with Maya (3D), for probably around 130-150,000usd?

What to do?

I met David Gates 2 weeks ago, and he and several others gave encouragement about the anime project as a whole, so i really got more impetus to do SOMETHING — but which one would be best??????

  1. Obviously we viewers can’t in anyway make the decision for you. We lack adequate background infomation. What I can do is list questions you need to perhaps weigh in the balance before buying into a big decision like this.

    1. Who will be the audience? Asians or Westerners?

    2. How will you market the finished product? Through book catalogues, public media, posters on billboards, or church bulletins?
    3. Which language will it come out in the first edition?

    4. Why are you so rich to even afford the 2D 40K $ edition? What is in you to think you have to foot the whole bill yourself?

    5. Why can’t you make an effort to contact the good handful of SDA millionares around who do do philanthropy?

    6. How will you promote the finished project? How will it be shown to the viewers?

    7. I take it you are obsessed with getting the GControversy in animation cartoon version for the ones who are too weak to read books?

  2. Decided to go with the 2D anime (Flash) for now, as that will get the story done up, and if there is interest, it can be done even cooler with 3D in the future.

  3. Thanks for the questions:
    1. The audience is everyone, but since in know where i’m at better just now, i would say SE Asians including Indians would be the initial main target audience.
    2. I haven’t thot of that.
    3. English
    4. Who else will?
    5. I’m not good at that. I have shown what is currently available to a few “moneyed” people, but have not asked for money to do this.
    6. Hopefully it will be thru word-of-mouth, someone who saw it will want to show it someone else etc. etc. I think there will be many who wish to show it to their church, and/or use in evangelism once they get it on a disk.
    7. This is the 2nd most important book in the whole world, yet it is not being read by much of anyone. Even for myself, the eyes naturally are attracted to a moving picture. a 110-minute sermon is too long by almost anyone’s estimation, but for a movie, most everyone will stay glued. And this is a powerful, the MOST POWERFUL story ever, ever told. And also, yes, it is for those who have never heard of Jesus Christ, and what he did for us. There are many, many, especially here in Asia, who have only vague concepts of what “Christian” means. This movie would awaken them to want to serve Jesus Christ, and be saved in his kingdom 🙂
