seventh-day adventists and other churches

This is regarding the article titled “Seventh-day Adventists and Other Churches” in the June 20, 2013 Review. “article”

While it is customary to see officials in the Seventh-day Adventist church promote a watering down of the Three Angels Messages, it is still troubling to see it done with such disregard for historical facts.

For example, Ellen White did work with the Temperance movement. However, representatives from that movement did not come into our SDA churches and hold worship meetings with us. This is in stark contrast to what is happening now. In “Adventists and Lutherans in Conversation” which reports on the dialogues held between SDAs and LWFs in the 1994-1998 time frame, it says: “By spending many hours together in listening and seeking to understand, in agreeing and disagreeing, in eating and especially praying, we experienced the bonding of the Spirit under our one Lord Jesus Christ.” Also, “for the past 43 years the key person in the CWC has been a Seventh-day Adventist.” The Council for a Parliament of the World’s Religions reports several instances of SDAs worshipping with and even sponsoring their programs.

Author William Johnsson makes a statement that is one of the current “mantras” among modern-day leaders and members of the SDA church in rich countries: “On the other hand, we Adventists do not seek to be an exclusive church that shuns relations with other Christian bodies.”

We despise the word “exclusive”, and are constantly promoting the word “inclusive”. No more of that original hymnal put out by James White titled “Hymns for God’s peculiar people,: That keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus”. Now we want to be just like the other churches, no, just like the world as much as possible, so that no one can tell us apart, so we don’t suffer any embarrassment or feeling of “being different”.

I wonder if we will feel embarrassment when Jesus looks deep into our hearts and announces our eternal destiny?

To join with those not of our faith to promote the good of society is one thing, but to extrapolate that to mean that it is then OK to worship with them is entirely different.
2Cor 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

More links showing this feeling that we are all one, and showing instances where we have groveled to get other denominations/relgions to accept us:

“steps to rome”
“so much in common between WCC & SDA”

Please notice that many of the above links are to sites that i do not recommend! Sadly, many people who sigh and cry over the abominations being done in Jerusalem, refuse to follow the message of Ezekiel 9 to stay in Jerusalem.

May we be among those IN Jerusalem sighing and crying over the abominations done in its midst, and thus receive the seal of God in our foreheads.
