Instead of decrying it, NARLA is spinning it as a &#8220;good thing&#8221;!!<\/p>\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Liberty Magazine (NARLA) against religious liberty\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YDcAIll9Jj8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>The North American Religious Liberty Association (NARLA) is the Seventh-day Adventist Church&#8217;s member-driven organization dedicated to promoting liberty of conscience and freedom of religion, and combating religious intolerance at the local, state, and national levels.<br \/>\n(From the official website)<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<br \/>\nWhen I was little, I spent the beginning of<br \/>\nmany Sabbaths reading Liberty Magazine.<\/p>\n<p>(and Church &#038; State, National Geographic,<br \/>\nSouthern Tidings, Reader&#8217;s Digest etc.)<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nIt was good to see them on the front lines,<br \/>\nstanding tall for religious liberty everywhere<br \/>\nit was threatened, in America and abroad.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<br \/>\nBut it seems now the new leaders<br \/>\ndon&#8217;t have the same desire to see<br \/>\nreligious liberty for all, and instead<br \/>\nare more interested in following<br \/>\nthe standard, liberal philosophy of:<br \/>\n&#8220;I&#8217;m OK, you&#8217;re OK&#8221;.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<br \/>\nIn January, 2014, Pew Research reported<br \/>\n&#8220;&#8230;the United States moved from the low<br \/>\ncategory of government restrictions as of<br \/>\nmid-2009 to the moderate category in<br \/>\n2010, where it remained in 2012.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<br \/>\nYou would expect NARLA to be concerned<br \/>\nabout religious liberty degradation not<br \/>\nonly abroad, but in the United States too.<\/p>\n<p>They are not, tho, as this video shows.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nIsn&#8217;t it natural to expect her to<br \/>\nexpress her concern about the<br \/>\ndegradation of religious liberty<br \/>\nin America here?<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<br \/>\n&#8220;The U.S. saw a marked increase in<br \/>\nhostility toward religion starting in<br \/>\n2009&#8221;.  Yes, that sounds like<br \/>\n&#8220;bad news for religious folks&#8221;<br \/>\nto me.  Not to you?<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nThis is not a comparison with the<br \/>\nrest of the world. This is about<br \/>\nreligious freedom.  If NARLA is<br \/>\njust about comparing &#8220;relative<br \/>\nfreedoms&#8221;, then they have no<br \/>\nmeaning as an organization<br \/>\nanymore.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nYes, people live in &#8220;local&#8221;<br \/>\nplaces, so it is natural that<br \/>\nreligious freedom needs are<br \/>\nfelt at the local level.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nTo be blunt about it, for the sake<br \/>\nof getting tax breaks from the govt.<br \/>\nthe SDA church has made some<br \/>\ncompromises with the gospel of<br \/>\nJesus Christ. Instead of doing<br \/>\neverything to the glory of God,<br \/>\nwe are more concerned about<br \/>\nkeeping our tax breaks (mammon).<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<br \/>\nNo.<br \/>\nAmerica has always been a &#8220;pluralistic<br \/>\nsociety&#8221;. NARLA Director, Melissa Reid,<br \/>\nhave you considered what happened in<br \/>\n2009 to cause this &#8220;religious hostility&#8221;?<br \/>\nAmerica voted in a new President who<br \/>\nis hostile to the Christian religion.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<br \/>\nThere you have it &#8211;<br \/>\nA &#8220;marked increase in hostility<br \/>\ntoward religion&#8221; is spun by NARLA<br \/>\nto mean &#8220;Good, this might mean<br \/>\nmore freedom for all&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>NARLA, you&#8217;ve just made yourself<br \/>\nirrelevant, and part of the problem,<br \/>\nrather than part of God&#8217;s solution.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<br \/>\nI call on you, Melissa Reid, to repent,<br \/>\nand for all the NARLA workers to<br \/>\nget close to God&#8217;s word, and<br \/>\nresolve to honor God no matter the<br \/>\ncost to popularity with the world.<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just made a new video to protest NARLA&#8217;s response to the fact that &#8220;The U.S. saw a marked increase in hostility toward religion starting in 2009&#8221;.
