It’s been a long while in the gestation stage, and took much longer than planned to complete, but finally the video asking many leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, of which i am a member, to repent for teaching that the god of Islam is the same as the God of the Christians, has been completed and uploaded to Youtube.<\/p>\n

This should be very easy to understand, as the Qur’an emphatically says that god has no son, while the Bible emphatically says that he DOES have a son.<\/p>\n

Many of us Seventh-day Adventists seem to have forgotten who Jesus is, and are telling people that the god of the Qur’an is the same as the God of the Bible.<\/p>\n

Sura 18:4 And to warn those who say: Allah has chosen a son, 5 (A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that comes out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie.<\/p>\n

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
\n1John 2:23 Anyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either.<\/p>\n

This video is to give information to those in the SDA church who may be wondering about Islam’s god, and to call God’s remnant church to repent for denying the Son of God.<\/p>\n

\nOnce upon a time all Seventh-day
\nAdventists knew that Jesus
\nwas the Son of God, and
\nthat the only way to the
\nFather was thru him.

\nThen a shocking event occurred
\non Sep. 11, 2001, causing a
\nrush of interest in studying
\nabout Islam.
\n—
\n
\nI too became interested, and, while
\nnot recommended, as i see no
\nexample of Jesus or the prophets
\nreading the book of Baal to reach
\nthe Baal worshippers, i read the
\nQur’an (formerly called Koran).

\nWhat i found verified what i had
\nalways been taught – the Qur’an
\nteaches a different god than
\nthe God of the Bible.<\/p>\n

\nNow it is true that there are many
\nsimilarities between the Bible and the
\nQur’an. Perhaps 70% sounds just like
\nthe Bible with stories of Abraham,
\nNoah, Moses, and Jesus, but most of
\nthese stories have strange twists like
\nNoah’s son drowning in the flood,
\nand Mary giving birth to Jesus
\nunder a palm tree etc.

\nI discovered 3 main doctrines in the
\nQur’an:
\n1. Allah is only one, he has no son
\n2. Eternal doom and torments for
\nunbelievers
\n3. Allah does whatever he wants
\n—
\nSome specific examples are:
\n“…The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was
\nonly a messenger of Allah, and His
\nword which He conveyed unto Mary,
\nand a spirit from Him. So believe in
\nAllah and His messengers, and say not
\n“Three” – Cease! (it is) better for you! –
\nAllah is only One God. Far is it
\nremoved from His Transcendent Majesty
\nthat He should have a son….”

\nThe Messiah, son of Mary, was
\nno other than a messenger,
\nmessengers (the like of whom)
\nhad passed away before him….
\nQur’an 5:75

\nNow it is true that the Qur’an
\noften speaks very highly of “Issa”,
\n(who is said to be “Jesus”).
\nBut there are many put-downs too.
\nSo is Jesus really nothing more than
\nanother “messenger, like those who
\ncame before him”?

\nAnd lo a voice from heaven,
\nsaying, This is my beloved Son,
\nin whom I am well pleased.
\nMatthew 3:17

\nAllah of the Qur’an has no son,
\nbut God of the Bible does have a son.<\/p>\n

Which one is the true God?
\nIs it possible they are both the
\ntrue God, or is the difference so
\nplain that anyone searching for
\nthe true God can understand?

\nIs Jesus “no other than a messenger,
\nlike those who had passed away
\nbefore him”? or is it true “That at
\nthe name of Jesus every knee
\nshould bow, of things in heaven,
\nand things in earth, and things
\nunder the earth” Phil 2:10?

\nI believe this is the crux of the
\nmatter. Satan’s problem isn’t so
\nmuch about jealousy against the
\nFather, it is against his Son –
\nJesus Christ.

\nDid the Holy Spirit give Ellen White
\nanything to say about Islam?

\nMohammedanism has its converts
\nin many lands, and its advocates
\ndeny the divinity of Christ. Shall
\nthis faith be propagated, and the
\nadvocates of truth fail to manifest
\nintense zeal to overthrow the error,
\nand teach men of the pre-existence
\nof the only Saviour of the world?

\nMy first experience with SDAs
\nbelieving that Allah of the Qur’an
\nis the same as the God of the Bible
\ncame in 2003 in a magazine
\narticle written by Steve Parker,
\na board member of Jeff Reich’s
\nLaymen Ministry News, titled
\n“Two Muslims and a Waldensian”

\nI had had a very good relationship with
\nLMN up to this point, living\/working
\n with one of their sponsored pastors
\nin India for 4 months, and giving
\nLMN all the inheritance money
\ni had received.

\nSo it was a great shock to me to
\nlearn that they believe Muslims
\nworship the “Creator God”, the
\nsame one we do. After several
\nemails, we parted company.
\nI don’t know if it is related,
\nbut that issue of their magazine
\nseems to be the last one printed.

\nOur Seventh-day Adventist Church
\nhas 4 Global Mission Study Centers.
\nOne is called: “Adventist-Muslim
\nRelations”. The director now is
\nLester Merklin, but the one before
\nhim was Jerald Whitehouse.
\nI went to a seminar he gave at
\nthe Thailand Mission 2007-11-25.
\n—
\nNot only did he say “We (Muslims)
\nworship the same God you do”, he
\nsaid both Christians’ and Muslims’
\nproblems could be solved if
\n“We each get back to our books”.
\nHe continued, saying “I’m not
\nChristian, I’m Adventist”.
\n—
\n“To defend Christianity is to deny
\nmy faith with Muslims.”
\nand
\n“You are there to strengthen
\nMuslim’s faith.”
\nNow Ellen White wrote that they
\n“deny the divinity of Christ”,
\nbut our leaders are saying we are
\nthere to “strengthen their faith”?
\n—
\nAfter the talk i went up to him
\nprivately and showed him 1John 2:22
\n“Who is a liar but he that denieth that
\nJesus is the Christ: He is antichrist,
\nthat denieth the Father and the Son.”
\nHe replied that Jesus didn’t usually
\ngo around telling people he was
\nthe Son of God, so we don’t need
\nto either.

\nIt was my comment tho, about what
\nreaction Muslim’s will have when
\nthey find out their “holy” book is
\nfrom Satan that elicited “If you
\nsay that in my meeting, i’ll have
\nyou thrown out!”

\nIf this was an isolated case, the
\ndamage wouldn’t be so bad, but
\nsadly, this mindset is spreading
\namong us. Prominent SDA
\nexamples include SULADS,
\nSylvain Romain, Bryan Gallant,
\nStephen Dickie, Rodney MacCullum
\nJohn Carter, and Dwight Nelson
\n—
\nSylvain Romain, 6th-generation SDA,
\nformer Albanian Mission Director,
\nsaid in a meeting of his i attended in
\nOctober, 2010: “Jesus as the Son of
\nGod is advanced doctrine and not basic
\nto Christian thinking”!! and
\n “Never criticize Islam, Allah,
\nthe Qur’an, or Muhammad”.
\n—
\nNow of course we don’t put down
\nanyone’s religion just to put it down,
\nbut shouldn’t we point out their errors?
\nI mean, one of the main things SDAs
\nare known for is their criticism of the
\npapal system! And to say that
\n“Jesus as the Son of God” is not basic
\nto Christianity is just,,,, well,
\n“another gospel” i would have to say.
\n—
\nBryan Gallant used to be connected
\nwith the Quiet Hour, and was the
\ndirector of Adventist-Muslim Relations
\nfor NAD. I had contact with him
\nover a 3 year period, and he seemed
\nto be sincerely trying to present Christ,
\nbut with reservations. However, in a
\nQuiet Hour article since taken off the
\nnet he says:
\n—
\n“Muslims worship the Creator God.
\nThis would be the same Creator God
\nreferenced in the Bible as the God
\nof the Jews and Christians”.
\nBut as shown earlier, there is no other
\nway to the Father except thru
\nJesus Christ. Actually, Jesus Christ
\nis the Creator, so to deny that he is God
\nis to deny the Creator.
\nThis should be very obvious.
\n—
\nIf you don’t have the Son, you don’t
\nhave the Father who sent him.
\n“Whoever denies the Son does not
\nhave the Father either; he who
\nacknowledges the Son has the
\nFather also.” (1John 2:23)<\/p>\n

So yes, it is true that even the Jews
\ntoday do not worship the same
\nGod of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
\nthat we Christians do
\n—
\nStephen Dickie is probably the most
\nvisible SDA proponent of this new gospel.
\nHis book, “Islam, God’s Forgotten
\nBlessing” is available at many
\nAdventist Book Centers.
\nIn it he says: “Allah is the same
\nGod that you and I pray to”.
\n“Islam’s reformation is in front of
\nthem today”.
\n—

\n“The Qur’an teaches that when you die,
\nyou’re dead.” But the Qur’an itself says
\nin 20:74: “Lo! whoso comes guilty unto
\nhis Lord, verily for him is hell. There
\nhe will neither die nor live.” and 22:19
\n“…boiling fluid will be poured down on
\ntheir heads, 20 Whereby that which is in
\ntheir bellies, and their skins too, will be
\nmelted; 21 And for them are hooked rods
\nof iron. 22 Whenever, in their anguish,
\nthey would go forth from thence they
\nare driven back therein and (it is said
\nunto them): Taste the doom of burning.”

\nSo we see the Qur’an DOES teach eternal
\ntorments and that God has no son.
\nHow can this possibly be the same God
\nthat the Christians believe in?<\/p>\n

I had email contact with Br. Dickie,
\nbut he did not retract any of his
\nstatements.
\n—
\nWhat were the results of his preaching
\nto the Muslims? <\/p>\n

Listen to the answer in his own words,
\nthinking about how which biblical
\nfigure he is emulating, and whether
\nGod approved of it then.
\n(hint: 1Kings 19)

… “and i didn’t give the full message
\nwhat i felt is necessary for a person
\nto know the truth.”

\nWell, that experimentation business with
\npeoples’ souls certainly seems far removed
\nfrom the example of Christians in ages
\ngone by, but surely our Seventh-day
\nAdventist-employed speakers would have
\na better grasp of the truth, wouldn’t they?
\nAdvent Interfaith Initiative, led by
\nRodney MacCullum, featured speaker
\nat the ASI convention in 2009 says:
\n“What the Qur’an says about Jesus… and
\n i agreed with Islam.”

\nShould we really be agreeing with
\nSura 43:59?
\n“He is nothing but a slave on whom We
\nbestowed favour, and We made him a
\npattern for the Children of Israel.”
\nSome translations have the word “slave”
\nas “mortal”, or “servant”.
\nIsn’t Jesus the Creator of the universe,
\nGod in the flesh, the Son of God?
\nor is he “nothing but a slave”?
\n—

\n“Don’t die on a hill that Allah means
\nsomething other than “God”!
\n“Die on a hill”??? That sounds sacrilegious
\nto me. Then there is the all-too-familiar
\nfallback to discussing word origins, which
\nis evading the main issue – Is the god of the
\nQur’an the same as the God of the Bible?
\nNo!

\n“Islam…are just people who want peace.”
\nMaybe Brother MacCullum skipped Sura 2?
\n“190 Fight in the way of Allah against those
\nwho fight against you, but begin not hostilities.
\nLo! Allah loves not aggressors.
\n191 And slay them wherever you find them,
\nand drive them out of the places whence
\nthey drove you out, for persecution
\nis worse than slaughter.”

\nAllah says to “slay them”, and that
\n“persecution is worse than slaughter.”
\nBut God says:
\n“But whoever strikes you on the
\nright cheek, turn the other to him
\nalso.” Matthew 5:39 and
\n“Love your enemies, do good
\nto those who hate you, bless those
\nwho curse you, pray for those who
\nmistreat you.” Luke 6:27-28.

\nWith so many obvious differences, how
\ncould anyone possibly get confused
\nwith equating the god of the Qur’an
\nwith the God of the Bible?!

\nJohn Carter, a SDA evangelist who
\nhas led thousands of people to
\nChrist would surely know who
\nChrist is, wouldn’t he?

\n“Allah is the same God that the
\nChristian worships, i believe.”
\nUt oh.
\nHow can an evangelist for Christ forget
\nthat Christ has a Father, thus automatically
\nexcluding Allah as being his Father?
\nYes, i understand very well that the
\nword “Allah” is used in some Bibles to refer
\nto God. Word origins is not the subject under
\nreview. The subject is whether or not
\nthe god of the Qur’an is the same as
\nthe God of the Bible.

\nThe clear, unambiguous answer is:
\n“No, the Allah of the Qur’an is
\nnot the God of the Bible.

\nspeakers knows Jesus,
\ndoesn’t he?

\nFirst of all, the subject is not about word
\norigins, but who this “Allah” is. “Allah”
\nin the Qur’an has no son, “God” in the Bible
\ndoes have a son. How can they be the same
\nbeing? Secondly, the name “God” has <\/p>\n

nothing
\nto do with some Nordic pagan god. Wikipedia
\nhas a good article on the word’s origin. But
\nagain, that is not the point under discussion
\nat all.

\nPastor Nelson, please show me even just one
\nplace in the Bible where God is called “The
\nGod of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, AND
\nIshmael”. Doesn’t Galatians 4:30 show the
\nposition of the bondwoman and her son?<\/p>\n

If you are adding to the Word of God,
\nbe careful that you repent as
\nRevelation 22:18 warns what will happen
\nto those who add to his word.

\nThe conclusion i have reached from
\nmy personal interaction with these
\nSDA brethren is somewhat fantastic,
\nbut it is that this new gospel is not out
\nto lead Muslims to Jesus, the Son of God,
\nand have them become Christian, but it
\nis to lead them to Jesus as something
\nother than the Son of God, make them
\nfeel good being a Muslim, and make
\nSDAs comfortable being called
\n“Muslim” too.

\nIn an article written by Asif Gokaslan
\non maranathamedia.com, a lady commented
\n“Oh how I love reading stories of the
\nconversion of Muslims (and Jews).”
\nHe replied:
\n“Honestly I do not convert but I became real
\nMuslim when I found my Lord and my Saviour
\nJesus Christ and He is right there in the <\/p>\n

Qur’an.
\nI am a Muslim or I became real Muslim when
\nI accepted Jesus Christ. We as a Muslim, we
\ndo not need to convert. we just need to see <\/p>\n

our
\nLord and Saviour Jesus Christ in the Qur’an.”

\nHere is one concrete example of a Muslim
\nwho responds to this new gospel by declaring
\nthat Muslims “do not need to convert”!!

\nSo are there any SDAs
\nupholding Jesus Christ as the only
\nSaviour, and yet still reaching out to
\nMuslims? William Johnsson gives
\nmostly good advice (except the non-
\nChristian part) in the Oct. 2010
\nissue of Adventist World:

\nashamed to call ourselves
\n“Christians”, and lead all people
\nto the only way to the one true God
