Breitbart News recently published that the pope said the Gospels are “imbalanced”, and that “imbalance” is good!:
\nChristians must embrace the \u201cimbalance\u201d of the gospel rather than trying to put everything in order, Pope Francis said Thursday, which leads to a \u201cdictatorship of functionalism.\u201d<\/p>\n

It is an error to try to \u201cfix\u201d things and impose order on the world or the Church, the pope told participants in a diocesan assembly in Rome, adding that it is a \u201ctemptation\u201d to think we can \u201creorganize the city, reorganize the diocese, put everything in order.\u201d<\/p>\n

Having everything in order converts the Church into a \u201cmuseum,\u201d Francis said, which would mean \u201ctaming things, taming young people, taming people\u2019s hearts, taming families\u201d and making everything \u201cperfect.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut this would be the greatest sin of worldliness and of the anti-evangelical worldly spirit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have heard about the imbalances of the city, the imbalance of young people, the elderly, families \u2026 The imbalance of relations with children,\u201d the pope said. \u201cToday we have been called to embrace the imbalance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot do anything good or evangelical if we are afraid of imbalance,\u201d he said. \u201cWe must grasp the imbalance in our hands: this is what the Lord tells us, because the Gospel \u2014 I believe you understand me \u2014 is an \u2018unbalanced\u2019 doctrine. Take the Beatitudes: they deserve the Nobel Prize for imbalance!\u201d<\/p>\n

The apostles did not get this, Francis suggested, because they had fallen into the clericalism of right thinking and a desire for order and balance.
\n<\/p>\n

Drawing inspiration from the miracle of the loaves and fishes as recounted in Saint Matthew\u2019s gospel, the pope said that the twelve Apostles \u201cbecame nervous\u201d as it grew late and sought \u201ca way to \u2018reorganize\u2019 things,\u201d approaching Jesus and asking him to send the crowds away to find something to eat, because they were in a deserted place.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the illusion of the balance of \u2018Church\u2019 people,\u201d he said, \u201cand I believe that clericalism began there: \u2018Send the people away, let them go, and we will eat what we have.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPerhaps that is where clericalism began, which is a beautiful \u2018balance,\u2019 to organize things,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

We do not need \u201ca beautiful, functionalized diocese,\u201d he said, where \u201cclericalism and functionalism\u201d reign.<\/p>\n

The pope says he knows of a diocese that has more employees than the Vatican, and \u201cthat diocese is getting further away from Jesus Christ because it worships \u2018harmony,\u2019 harmony not of beauty, but of functionalist worldliness.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd in these cases we have fallen into the dictatorship of functionalism,\u201d he said. \u201cIt is a new ideological colonization that tries to convince us that the Gospel is a wisdom, it is a doctrine, but it is not an announcement, it is not a kerygma.\u201d<\/p>\n
