Open Source Software Disqus: “What is Seventh Day Adventism?”

This Disqus forum site published the above article. You can find it here: What is Seventh Day Adventism?

I’ve had some interaction with that site’s owner on the Disqus site “Grace and Truth”, and knew that he/she was against SDAs, but seemed to be more honest and searching than some others.

So I read the article carefully, and made the following observations:

—————-
Thank you for starting a discussion about God’s remnant church!
.
The 7th day Sabbath is one of the 10 Commandments that God wrote with his own finger in stone.
Jesus Christ kept the commandments, and said that if we love him, we are to “keep my commandments”.
He prophesied that we need to pray in the last days that our flight into the hills from tribulation should not take place on the Sabbath day.
.
Daniel 8:14 was fulfilled exactly on the Day of Atonement – 2300 years later – on October 22, 1844. That is the day Jesus Christ entered the Most Holy Place in heaven, to begin the final atonement for sins.
The Sanctuary figures prominently in SDA teaching, as God used it as a type, to teach us important truths. One of those is that the scapegoat (Azazel) represents Satan. This is what the Jews believed, and most all Christians until just around 150 years ago when “higher criticism” came into the various churches.
.
Ellen White is a true messenger of the Lord Jesus Christ. No one has ever produced even one false vision from her. But you do not have believe her writings to be saved, as she wrote herself that everyone will be judged by the great statute book – the Holy Bible.
.
I agree that the Clear Word Bible is an abomination. It is not an official SDA Bible, but was penned by a teacher of theology at a SDA University. There are many tares in God’s remnant church, sadly, but that doesn’t mean that the wheat is bad.
.
God has told us thru Ellen White that the SDA church is “Laodicea”. That is a terrible position. But, as you can read for yourself, that church is still loved by God. All other churches showed that they didn’t love Jesus, as they didn’t even wish to see him return in 1844. So God’s plan was carried out then, to test hearts, to see who is really desirous of following the Lamb wherever he leads.
.
I pray you also will want to follow the Lamb wherever he leads – to the New Jerusalem, and eternal life. 🙂

That post not only got removed, it got me banned from the site! I had posted on the site before, so was quite amazed to see this.

So site owner “ExtremeRC”, why did you put up an article asking a question about SDAs, and then remove relevant answers? It just makes it look like you are not interested in what the title of your own article is about, and just want to bash SDAs. Was that your intention?

May we all remember to give glory to our lovely Saviour – Jesus Christ, in all our interactions today.

Adventist Review attacks Trump, but quietly changes article

The following was my comment to an Adventist Review article titled:
The Moral Challenge of Forcing Apart Migrant Families
Adventist Review The Moral Challenge of Forcing Apart Migrant Families

Quoting the article:
“you already know about the Trump administration policy of separating children from apprehended migrant families.”

I commented:

“One problem with that statement – It started under President Obama!!!

It is sad to see our church following Progressive politics more and more.”

The above comment got removed.

But AR DID change their article to:
“ you already know about the U.S. administration policy of separating children from apprehended migrant families. ”

Hypocrites!

It’s really sad to see the flagship paper for God’s remnant church go down the dark road of social justice religious oppression.

review of spy kitten’s video dissing sdas by saying they influenced charles taze russell of the jehovah’s witnesses

A review of a video by Spy Kitten TV, titled:
“A False Religion The Jehovah’s Witness Cult”. I’m not JW, but am Seventh-day Adventist, and as this video spends the first 7 minutes trying to tie in the false doctrines of the JWs with the true doctrines of the SDAs, this review is to show where the presenter made errors. Unfortunately, the video is so over-the-top, that it will not only work to establish JWs’ belief in their unbiblical doctrines, it also serves to make the non-religious look at all Christians as goof-balls (and I’m not saying JWs are Christians).

The following is where errors were found regarding Adventists:
1:05 The origins of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, along with the Seventh-day Adventists and both of their founders – Charles Taze Russell and Ellen G. White all go back to something called “the Millerite Movement”.
Actually, Russell was not born until 1852, so he could not “go back to” something that had finished 8 years before he was born! Fortunately, the video corrects this error at the 6:23 mark.

1:25 and that shortly after, Armegeddon would begin.
Actually, William Miller did not predict that Armegeddon would begin after Jesus came back in 1843 or 1844. He didn’t predict anything about Armageddon. This is just made up.

1:36 the date was further recalculated to March of 1844.
Actually, William Miller said from the first that the date was Jewish year 1843 – extending to March 21, 1844, based on the 2300 days of Daniel 8:14. He did not recalculate anything. An Advent believer, Samuel Snow, rightly calculated the Day of Atonement for October 22, 1844 as the correct day, since neither Miller, nor his detractors, thought to add one year for the zero year from BC to AD. That date correctly identified the end of the 2300 days in Daniel 8:14, but what was cleansed was the sanctuary in heaven, not this earth by fire.

3:07 her family (Ellen White’s) became involved in the Millerite Movement, the same as Russell would later.
Actually, Russel never, ever became “involved in” the Millerite movement. That movement finished long before he was born. Advent Christians and Seventh-day Adventists came out of the Millerite movement.

8 reasons why SDAs should not believe in the doctrine of “unconditional love”

The following is something I wrote to a fellow Seventh-day Adventist believer, who believes in the unscriptural doctrine of “Unconditional Love”. Since there are many fellow SDAs who believe in this doctrine, I wrote this kind of as a challenge to bring forth your inspired evidence for why you believe as you do.
———–
Here are some reasons I don’t believe in the doctrine of “Unconditional Love”. If I am wrong in any of these, please let me know. If you can show that I’m wrong in all of these, I will naturally repent and believe in “Unconditional Love”. If most of these stay true, then you will need to repent, and quit believing in “Unconditional Love”.
1. UL teaches that the Father loves Satan exactly the same as he loves his only begotten Son.
2. UL teaches that when inspired words say God “hates” some people, it doesn’t mean “hates”.
3. UL teaches that when inspired words say God doesn’t love some some people, it means something else.
4. UL teaches that when inspired words say some human went beyond the bounds of God’s love, it doesn’t mean that they went beyond the bounds of God’s love.
5. UL teaches that large parts of the Bible have really no understandable meaning in the places where it says Jesus “loved” somebody, because he loves everybody exactly the same.
6. UL teaches that we need to love Satan exactly like we love Jesus.
7. UL teaches that ultimately, everyone will go to heaven.
8. UL teaches that God doesn’t have understandable attributes, and eventually, leads to the idea that God is not a person at all – but just some kind of “cosmic consciousness”.

new study finds religious people live 4 years longer

“Researchers at Ohio State University found that religious people live an average of four years longer than atheists. Their study was published Wednesday in the journal Social Psychological and Personality Science.”
living longer religiously

Of course it’s not definitive, but it is interesting.

I always tell people that true Christians live longer and happier than anyone else – by millions and billions and trillions of years. 🙂

Japan SDAs are dying out

Yesterday at church, I heard that in 2017 there were 233 baptisms into the SDA church in Japan. And there were 216 deaths.

There are approximately 15,000 members, in a country of roughly 127,000,000.

I’m not sure of the breakdown, but I’m guessing around 30-40% of those baptisms in Japan last year were of either foreign people living in Japan, or of 2nd-3rd generation South Americans of Japanese descent who have come to Japan.

The church in Japan is dying.
Any ideas on what to do about it?
